This is an excellent point. There are states out there fucking their residents by holding on to the federal funds as opposed to distributing them properly to the landlords and tenants. Red and Blue states alike. On top of it - at some point landlords deserve to get reimbursed for their expenses.

In general, congress as well as Presidential candidates sell talking points of what they think voters want to hear but pursue the solutions/agendas of their financial backers and personal interests. Add that the vast majority of Americans are uniformed and lazy about even wanting to go beyond a tweet or headline to formulate opinions. They could solve tons of real problems if they wanted to but they half ass it and exaggerate the accomplishments and ignore the failures. It's why Congress has a lower approval rating than anyone with voters.

They should have passed more on 1st down and this year they are doing more of that BTW. Saying that, they had the #1 rushing offense last year and Dallas completely shut it down. Playoff games are usually fairly evenly matched and tight games. The game was most definitely winnable for Seattle but a handful of plays were the difference IMO: Wilson missed Baldwin on a 3rd down pass that would have been a TD. Instead they settled for a FG. Dallas was playing conservative right before the half yet Seattle let Elliot run 44 yards into scoring range and they scored a TD a few plays later to go up 10-6. Prescott runs 16 yards for a 1st down on 3rd and 14. They scored a TD one play later to go up 24-14. Seattle scored a TD quickly to get within 2 but of course didn't get the onside kick.

They threw it more than they ran it in that game and while one can argue they should have even more pass heavy, there were other bigger factors to me than the OC. Their 3rd down conversion rate was horrid (2/13), the settled for FG's when in the red zone twice, and allowed Dallas to convert three third down conversions (including 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 15) when they had to keep it a one score game right before the 2 minute warning.

I think Schottenheimer has been good in Seattle. Folks want to see Wilson throw it 35-40 times and there's no way the OL they have would hold up. Add in the impact on their very much of a work in progress defense. The formula is Seattle since Wilson arrived puts a huge emphasis on efficiency, not volume, in the passing game and Wilson so far is one of the most efficient QB's in history.

Religion is largely a coping mechanism IMO. Honestly reverting to stuff like gods plan probably saves people from going nuts when a tragedy (insert Oilerman comedy) happens.

I’m actually not religious at all. I just take most of what players and coaches say with a grain of salt. I also think people that are religious take events that happen and rationalize them with scripture. It happens in real life too. Kid dies of cancer and people says it’s gods will etc.

I think you are taking his comments way too literally.

Plenty of religious folks use the God is good phrase. Pretty sure he really doesn't think God pushed the FG wide right..... I do think plenty of people, athletes included, use God/religion as a coping mechanism when good or bad things happen. At the end of the day, don't care. He's an awesome QB who's fun to watch and seems to get better and better every year.

Luck and Wilson is a twitter debate based on a Mike Wells tweet ironically. Those 2 seem linked based on the 2012 draft.

Personally, I look at things like Passer Rating, YPA, TD/INT ratio, TD%, INT%, 3rd down conversion rate, TD drive efficiency. In this instance, Wilson's passing numbers are much more efficient than Luck's, both career wise and this year. Luck is a very good QB in his own right but he turns it over a lot and always has. Indy, however, has found a run game of late though and that definitely will help Luck.

I read an article recently about Wilson's career stats in the first 4 years to put it in some sort of perspective. The 4 year comp matches up really close with Steve Young's prime years (1991 - 1994) in which he was first team All Pro 3 times and the MVP twice. Some numbers were EXACT matches - Passing yards (13,974) and TD passes (106). Young had a better completion % and hence YPA, and QB rating. Wilson had a better TD/INT ratio. Wilson had an advantage in yards (2430 compared to 1652 for Young) but Young had more rushing TD's (17 vs. 12) and YPC.

Funny interpretation of all of this being a knock or diss of Wilson by his HC. This is a prime example of how coaching is important. Carroll is taking the QB's of his offense and defense and challenging them to push their limits of knowledge by exposing them to intricacies of the other side of the ball.

Seattle scored 40 offensive TD's this season. Wilson threw 20 of them and ran for another 6. That's 65% of their TD's that he had a part in. Lynch had 13 rushing TD's and caught 4 of Wilson's 20 TD passes. He had a part in 42.5% of their TD's. Wilson accounted for 72% of their total offense passing and running. As for the TD passing numbers by game, I guess I don't see it as critical in whether he's good or not given how the flow of the game went. In one of those games, they won by 21 points and Wilson had 102 yards rushing while the team rushed it 45 times for 350 yards or so. But here's a good example of whether it means much or not. Last regular season game. Early 4th quarter with the game tied at 6 with the pesky Rams. They have a 54 yard drive where Lynch has a 9 yard TD run to put them ahead for good. Wilson was 2 of 3 for 38 yards, including a 3rd and long conversion. Lynch had 3 carries for 14 yards, including the 9 yard TD. But he didn't throw a TD pass.

I never said Dalton was great or even good. All I did was show you the numbers on the stat that you think is so critical. You are the one that says TD passes is such a critical metric. I'm the one showing you that numbers like QBR, YPA, and TD pass % are more appropriate metrics. As for including Marino in with current guys, the modern passing era really started with guys like him and Montana. It really was because he had the most TD passes in his first three years.

520 you crack me up with your attempt to argue with data when it's clear that it really comes down to your opinion that Wilson is overrated, completes 10 passes a game, and never throws TD passes. You do realize that Wilson tied Manning for the 2nd most TD passes in the first two seasons (52) behind Dan Marino (68)? If you look at the three year numbers for TD passes, Wilson is 5th all time: 1. Dan Marino - 98 TD/44 INT, 96.4 QBR, Playoffs - 13 TD/10 INT, 79.4 QBR 2. Andrew Luck - 86 TD/43 INT, 86.6 QBR, Playoffs - 9 TD/12 INT, 76.8 QBR 3. Peyton Manning - 85 TD/58 INT, 85.3 QBR, Playoffs - 1 TD/0 INT, 70.8 QBR 4. Andy Dalton - 80 TD/49 INT, 85.6 QBR, Playoffs - 1 TD/6 INT, 56.2 QBR 5. Russell Wilson - 72 TD/26 INT, 98.6 QBR, Playoffs - 10 TD/5 INT, 96.3 QBR Note that Wilson had the fewest pass attempts of this group by 175 passes (Marino had the next fewest attempts ironically). Luck had the most pass attempts -134 more than Manning did in his first 3 years. Wilson has the highest QBR, highest TD%, and lowest INT% of this group. And this doesn't even go into the running portion of his game.

He's is similar to McNair is some ways - the instinctive feel of the rush or when to run and making back breaking plays when the defense had a play stopped. That said, because he's not a physical runner he does the best job I have ever seen about avoiding big hits and as such has not missed a snap aside from being pulled from some blow out wins. Production wise, he's been at or better in all 3 years that McNair was at his peak (2002/2003). I loved McNair as a player but I would also say Wilson is a harder worker and is smarter than 9 was. He's more on the line of Brady and Manning in terms of how he prepares. Still, Wilson has plenty of room for improvement and there are a few QB's I would take over him if a game was today - Rodgers, Brady, Luck. I do think he'll always have to be unique in his style to an extent because he's 5-11. Of course, that's the main reason he went in the 3rd round instead of the top 5.

Yes Seattle has a plan with Wilson getting a huge raise to keep their core guys. Looks like they tied with some other teams for 25th in # of drives. 4 teams had fewer drives. As for TD's, have no idea but I do know that Lynch led the NFL in rushing touchdowns and that certainly impacted those kind of stats. You don't have to agree but Wilson is in the top tier of QB's right now and arguably is the perfect QB for that specific team who has had a major role in why they went from being OK to great. He's going to get a big contract. What's the alternative solution? Ask Buffalo how hard it is to win with a great defense and no QB.

27th ranked passing in yardage (32nd in pass attempts) but 6th in passing yards/attempt. Your using a stat that is meaningless given how Seattle is specifically built to play, especially since their run offense is the best in football (yards, yards per carry, TD's running). Wilson passing and running accounted for 72% of Seattle's total offense, which BTW was 6th overall in yards/play right below the Broncos at 5. They were 9th in scoring offense at 25.2 per game. Aside from all of this theoretical of how he would do in another situation, that team has most of it's core on defense locked up through 2017. The lone exception is Wagner (2015), who is slated for a deal this offseason. Wilson is the perfect QB for that team and he's going to get a big contract. Unlike the morons with the Titans, the Seahawks planned very well for keeping the core team together for an extended run with players in their prime.

Time will tell. But there's no undeniable proof out there - all of the numbers you provided focused on passing yards and TD passes and totally ignore real factors that impact those - Seattle is a run based offense that throws it less than any other team in the NFL for 3 years in a row. Yet when you look at in terms of efficiency - Seattle ranks in the top 5/6 in terms of pass yards/play and Wilson's TD % number is good.

Brees turns it over at almost double the rate that Wilson does but the TD %, completion %, YPA are very similar. Add in Wilson's mobility/running impact and he's got the advantage in my opinion, especially when you factor in how Seattle is built.
