Bran didn't raise anyone for the dead. He isn't the Lord of Light. Lord of Light/Red priestesses/dragons are fire magic. NK is ice magic. Bran is green magic. Greenseers, Children of The Forest, 3eyed raven magic. Different from the other two. One of the biggest problems for the children were the Andals coming over from Essos and burning up all the Godswoods/weirwood trees. They are not connected to fire magic, and in fact are opposed to it. If you want to come right down to it, the reason they created the NK and his ice magic was to oppose the fire magic.

Something that just hit me. When Bran said "thank you" to Theon right before his suicide charge at the NK, it seemed out of place and thus extra cheesy. But IMO Bran was thanking Theon for something very important - his charge allowed for just enough distraction to help Arya sneak in. Whether this is what Theon intended or not I don't know, but it's what the end result was.

Greenseer/Children magic is totally separate from the light/fire magic. Older too.

I don't want to argue about it anymore but I would like it if folks stop attributing words to me I never said. I never used the word "mindless," nor the word "barbarian." K thanks. The Dothraki to me are really one of the most interesting things in the whole book and movies. Sucks they are gone. Hopefully a new khalassar is kicking ass over in Essos.

Well I didn't really say they were a mindless horde but it's not a big deal. I've said how I see it and that's just my interpretation of the story. I don't feel too strongly. This is really just a side bar to a side bar, so not a big deal, and I only mentioned it to say that this one particular aspect of the battle - the Dothraki rushing in straight at the dead, with Jorah - struck me as in character and just what I would expect, vs. them behaving like more typical western light cavalry. I think we can all agree the immense assets of the north were used poorly, but as someone said earlier maybe it's because they valued protecting Bran and luring the NK over winning the battle head to head. Or maybe it's just shitty writing/directing, or rather writers who know nothing about military tactics and don't really care. Who knows? I just hate to see the Dothraki go. But then I've been depressed about the Dothraki ever since Kahl Drogo died.

lol this makes no sense. No one commands Dothraki in battle. And no one commands them period other than a Kahl. It's cool though we see it two different ways and it doesn't really matter.

Yeah I get that. But it is also a fact that he lived and fought with Dothraki. He reclaimed his honor, but he still has an Essos heart IMO. Not worth arguing about.

I guess the Mormonts would have had andal blood. Everyone did didn't they? Even the starks although they had the blood of the first men in them too. Probably to the dothraki everyone over there is an Andal.

Of course he knows better but that's not the point. What difference does it make he WAS (not is} an annointed knight? He's a fallen knight. Banished from westeros and stripped of all titles and honor. The guy rode with dothraki for a decade. He spent half the first season trying to explain to denaeraus and her brother the importance of courage and honor among the dothraki and their ways. The guy is up there riding with the dothraki in the vanguard. He's gonna do what they are doing. Besides what choice does he have? He's not going to be able to lead a dothraki charge. He has no sway among the dothraki. It was an honor to him just to be accepted among them and to ride with them. Just to be clear I agree there were tons of silly bone headed military decisions made by the show creators. But the dothraki rushing headlong right into the hoard - jorah with them - was the least surprising thing about that battle. Anything different would have been totally out of character.

What do you mean? The dude been living and fighting with the dothraki for years and years. He would have been right there with them. Jorah was more essos that westeros.

One point about military strategy, the proper use of light cavalry, and the dothraki. That's bullshit. The dothraki would have insisted on being up front and galloping straight in like they did. There is no scenario in shich the dothraki agree to be used strategically attacking the sides etc like proper light cavalry. Yes they are technically light cavalry but really they are dothraki. Dothraki rush right in and kick ass like they are used to doing. No matter what you tell them to do. Other than that the military strategy certainly was terrible but the quibbling over the proper use of the dothraki is silly. You can plan that battle for a month and the dothraki would have done the exact same damn thing.

No that would be overkill. Come on. Just a couple of minutes of everyone cutting loose woild be enough. God knows they've earned it.

If they could play that music from the ewok post death star celebration for the dance party that would make it perfect. Not the new music they added later but the original music that was more crazy and fun

The old 3 eyed raven warned Bran not to fuck with the past. But did Bran heed the warning? Is the loss of most of his family and all the death and destruction the consequence of Bran's trying to manipulate the past? I'm thinking these questions will be answered through another tree sequence. That's really all it would take, like where it shows what is going on in Bran's brain as he touches a tree.

One thing I am not buying is the talk of Bran being evil or Bran being this or being that. Bran's role is very clear. Maybe the clearest, other than the NK. The NK is the embodiment of ice magic. Someone (Dany? Jon?) is the embodiment of fire magic. And then there is a third magic, green magic we will call it. Greenseers, Children of the Forest, the trees. Basically like elemental stuff, The Three Eyed Raven (now Bran) is the embodiment of earth magic. The question is how it all ties together. Did the dragons hatch and fire magic rise because the NK and ice magic were gaining power, or vice versa? And then did that cause green magic to similarly grow in strength, through Bran, to counterbalance? And, how much power does Bran have? What has he been up to? Has he been going back and manipulating everything since almost jump, knowing how everything was heading? What are the consequences, if any, of killing the white walkers? Is there really a "Lord of Light"? Seems unlikely. Is there a modern day Azor Azai, and if so, who?
