scine09
4tds to 9 int He played 3 games dude His overall body of work far outshines some of the guys in the league whose ceiling comes nowhere close to what Young did in 2009 and 2010. I can understand a team wanting to go younger in hopes that they'll catch lightning in a bottle. I can also understand teams shying away from Young because they don't think he'll ever be a franchise QB and he's not worth the headache. But if you're talking about purely the best 96 QB's in the league, assuming every team carries 3 QB's, and no off the field factors were being considered then Young would absolutely be on a roster. Pragidealist
Lol yep 9 int in three freakibg games! How many games would he play backing up Ponder?
OILERMAN
Poor ol Scine just will never get it You were wrong about how good he was. He totally sucks, he's terrible in every way a QB can be terrible. You're now down to arguing whether or not there are worse QBs on an NFL roster than VY? Is this how far we've fallen? Here is the truth. VY would be the worst starting QB an NFL team could have right now. Doesn't know the playbook, injury prone, really stupid, no accuracy and a turnover machine He would also be a terrible back-up, the worst back-up in the league. He won't know the playbook, is going to cause your team controversy, isn't going to help the starter and would be terrible running the scout team because he's too stupid to learn other teams plays ect.... Terrible option as the 3rd QB. Too expensive, no upside and a total distraction So yes, in any role he could be signed to he would be worse than any QB on an NFL roster. Having said, please let someone sign him BTW, he is blackballed from the league. He was blackballed by himself. He's so incredibly stupid he made sure no one wanted to touch him
OILERMAN
Praq, It wasn't just 9 INTs. On many of those INTs he had no idea where he was suppose to go with the ball or what coverage he was throwing against. He just threw the ball up for grabs into coverage with no WRs around. In 09 and 2010 he was barely asked to read the defense or make decisions. He threw deep passes and avoided the middle of the field. He threw about 15 passes per game and was destroyed against quality teams
Guest
Lol yep 9 int in three freakibg games! How many games would he play backing up Ponder? I've often said the most amazing thing about his 2007 season is how he could throw 17 int's in an offense that asked him to do nothing and protected him and made sure he never threw it in risky areas. It's reflected in 9td's right? I mean how many qb's play a season and have 9TD's? But you actually can't criticize him that much for that because we didn't ask him to do anything. 9TD's was probably about right. It's not like we gave him a chance to do much better than 9td's right? But how the hell do you throw 17 int's in an offense llke that? And how many would he throw in a regular offense with a coaching staff that doesn't try to hide their awful QB's throwing and decision making in the game plan? Well there's our glimpse I guess...9 int's in 3 games! Boy that Fisher sure is stupid. What a saboteur. Should have just turned him loose! Throwing 17 ints' im that offense in 2007 probably translates to 35-40 int's in a regular offense doing the regular things an NFL QB is asked to do and what they put on him. scine09
You highlighted the reasons that no one should sign him Oilerman. He'd be a terrible backup. He'd be a better starter though IMO than certain starting QB's, however.
Legaltitan
“You could never say that I wasn’t a hard worker, leading the team, doing all these things that they said I’m not doing.....at duh same time I know I'm dumb as a stump & throw like a girl." this made me laugh my ass off. Well done.
Legaltitan
Is he smart enough to play in the NFL? Lets ask the Giants, Texans and Cardinals. Why would we ask them? And, by the way, it is all but confirmed he is too stupid to play QB in the NFL.
Legaltitan
They think he is the best of the fa qbs left. Not exactly murderer's row.
Legaltitan
Clearly the reason that Young doesn't have a job isn't because of his ability to play the position. Just check the rosters. There are many QB's out there on rosters that are nowhere near as good as Young. This is true. NFL personnel guys, just like the heads of other billion dollar corporations, aren't interested in bringing in the best talent to forward the interests of the organization. They are more interested in pursuing agendas and conpiracies. Since: "Vince - I wish I knew how to quit you!"

Legaltitan
Joe Webb? . Webb, easily. At least he didn't try to quit in the playoffs. All things being equal, I'll take the guy who won't quit on the team versus the guy who will. BTW, that happened ON THE FIELD.

Mercalius
Obviously VY had some form of intelligence. I mean, really, it takes some creative genius to walk into a TGIFridays and rack up a 4 digit bill. Seriously, don't they do a special where you get an appetizer, steak of your choice, dessert, handjob, a fattened calf, and an iTunes gift-card for like 29.99? Racking up thousand dollar tabs in there is beyond impressive. They didn't call him Vince or even Mr. Young in there, he was known as The Lord of the Middle Class Date Night
