JungleKicker
This one is pretty simple: Do we build on our best performance of the year or do we morph back into the team we've been most of the season? The Titans have been awful on the road, but those were against three solid teams: San Diego, Houston and Minnesota. (Not sure Minnesota is really all that great, but we'll call them solid.) I actually think we'll play well, and yes, I say the Titans pull out a victory. My score? 27-23. I've got a feeling Chris Johnson runs well, Hasselbeck hits those timely third down passes, and perhaps Griffin even gets a pick. I'm most serious about that CJ part. I'm anticipating a 100-plus yard performance. If I'm wrong -- and he plays horribly -- I think I might give up on the young man. So, there's my two cents. What do you folks think? OILERMAN
You haven't given up on CJ yet? LOL
Blackjack
The Bills are dead last at running defense. If Johnson doesn't have a good day my head will explode. Bills give up 173.5 rushing yards per game.
OILERMAN
I heard someone breaking this game down earlier in the week. They said CJ does well against defenses that create cut back lanes and do not focus on containment. According to this breakdown the Bills focus on containment and should do well against CJ, they suffer against straight up maulers like SF. Who knows, it was interesting and made sense. OILERMAN
Kuharsky wrote about the fact the Titans had no runs for losses against the Steelers and this cracked me up: I’m not one for cartwheels over managing to actually not move backward. But the Titans' run game has struggled so badly, and coaches have emphasized it so much, that it’s definitely worth noting when there is forward progress on this issue. It wasn’t too long ago the hope for a handoff to Chris Johnson was for a home run. Now the baseline is a lot more modest: Please at least go forward. LOL, so true. CJ is no longer expected to make big plays. If he can at least get most of what is blocked for him people now consider it a good job.
notsolegato
Johnson has played fine the last 2-3 weeks.
abenjami
Well since this thread is about predictions, here's mine. The game begins like a shootout. Both teams move the ball down the field with relative ease and start putting points on the board. Then Hass gets hurt. Rusty comes in. We proceed to hand the ball off to CJ 37 times in a row, even after we're down 21 points.
Denali
I predict that unlike the Steelers, the Bills have indeed read the memo that all you need to do is pass the ball against the Titans. They will not make the same mistake and try to establish a running game. The Titans won't be so lucky this time. Bills 31 Titans
OILERMAN
Johnson has played fine the last 2-3 weeks. No he hasn't. He left a ton of yards on the field against the Steelers and only got what the OL blocked for him, got tackled one on one against Harrison laying on the ground and was absolutely pitiful against the Vikes, 15 carries for 24yds and a long of 9 yds. On what planet is this remotely close to playing "fine". This new standard for CJ is pretty damn laughable
OILERMAN
The Buffalo News: http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121021/SPORTS/121029884/1004 Buffalo is 31st in total defense, last against the run, second-last in points allowed, 21st in total offense, 29th in passing yards per game. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the 21st-rated passer in the league. The two games against New England and San Francisco were pitiful. The win over Arizona easily could have gone the other way. And yet they’re tied atop the division. Amazing. The Titans actually have been worse than the Bills this season. Tennessee is ranked in the bottom third in almost every meaningful statistic on offense and defense. It’s first in punting and punt returns. Tennessee (2-4) has struggled for most of the season. Its two wins came over Detroit and Pittsburgh, both of which have underperformed based on preseason predictions. Both victories came by a field goal. The Titans have been dreadful in defeat, losing to New England, San Diego, Houston and Minnesota by an average of 24 points.

No. Is it average-fine? Yeah.
nine
Titans have been absolutely horrendous on the road this year, and have lost every road game by 20+ points. If you're the home team, you gotta like your chances here. If the Titans D plays as poorly as they've played up to this point, it won't much matter what kind of day CJ has. CJ isn't gonna put 30+ points on the board. In fact, if I'm the Bills, I'm not particularly worried about stopping CJ; after all, while he's had a couple good games, he has yet to get into the endzone this year. Until CJ shows that he can put points on the board, I'd focus on containing the Titans' receiving corps, try to force Hasselbeck into some bad decisions, and let them hand it to CJ as much as they like. (That being said, the Bills have already allowed 1100 yards rushing and 9 TD's on the ground....so they're probably pretty worried about their run defense no matter who they're facing.) OILERMAN
Over his last 60 or so carries he's getting 4.4ish YPC and he's gotten over 100 in two of the last three games. Is it awesome? No. Is it average-fine? Yeah. First of all this isn't even true. The last 3 games he has 59 carries for 4.3yds per carry and has one 100yd game, not two. He has no TDs and he hasn't had a 20yd run all season, much less in the last 3 games. Besides that you have to look at these numbers in context. He had 9 carries for 60yds at the very end of the Texans game down 21+ points against freaking back-ups. The Titans were completely blown out against the Texans and the Steelers were completely decimated by injuries to their defense and CJ should have had about 150yds with the holes he had. Is this awesome? Absolutely not, is it fine? No way in hell. It's below average and mediocre.

You have to wonder when defenses start this approach. I believe the Texans didn't care at all what CJ did. Not only has he not scored but he never makes a long run. 19 is the season long, in 5 games it's 13 or less and in 3 it's single digits 9, 7 and 5. What made LW so bad is teams played all out zone pass defenses against him when he spared everyone to death. The reason CJ is so unlucky is he's pretty spare but still gets a lot of attention which leads to the games with less than 2yds per carry.
