How does that work exactly when you cut an injured player before the season? Injury settlement? I'm guessing that doesn't have an effect on the cap. If no other team claims him, he'll go on Tennessee's IR or they can agree on a settlement. I'm guessing that doesn't have an effect on the cap. If he misses the entire season it means he gets a full year salary. If he’s only out a few weeks before the season even starts then it’s minimal. Somewhere in the middle and there would be a settlement based on the number of games he would miss. Just depends on how long he would hypothetically miss due to injury.
