You're exaggerating the effort required.  He's a 240 lbs receiving TE, not an inline, and simply had to stop running for the ball to float right to him. He just did a terrible job of tracking it and lunged for it at the last minute.

 

  For Allen to get the ball there when his RT decided to block nobody was the impressive feat.

Remarkable throw given the circumstances, but post-snap circumstances can also be a result of a QB not adjusting pre-snap well enough.

Funny you bring this up, I saw a clip where one of their OL said KC ran the reverse of the corner back blitz they'd been running the entire game based on the alignment. Every time they lined up with that look they would slide the protection a certain way to offset the weak side blitz. On that last play they ran the same alignment except sent the CB from the strong side right into the huge gap caused in slide protection. Really genius stuff right there by Spags.

I don't see how you put any of those losses on him.  

I get that but in a legacy making mode, you'd want him to drive down and score the winning TD (like the 2022 game before they choked away the 13 seconds).....To be fair, Allen has had a ton of cred from that one game and certainly has an advantage over Lamar in terms of playoff success.
