Red zone offense

One thing I’ve noticed:  on several of the plays where the O-line has given up quick sacks or immediate pressure, the OL at fault often looks like he doesn’t even know his assignment….like he’s looking somewhere else and doesn’t realize who he’s supposed to block until after the ball is snapped and it’s too late for him to adjust.

IMO,  plays like this suggest a failure in communication, which goes back to coaching….making sure every guy knows his assignment and that the O-line has a system of communicating protection changes in a hostile environment.

It could be a failure at the line too, whether by the QB or the C.  I guess I haven't really paid attention to see who is making those calls for us, as I'm usually squinting my eyes whenever we have the ball.

I think they need to start using Phillips in the redzone. It feels like they only want to use him when they go 4-5 wide but his short area quickness has to be able to add something even if he isn't targeted him running short routes could help clear out a little space for other guys.
