Would basically offer next to nothing in the run game he really is the definition of a big slot WR.

Lots of teams have a receiving TE who can barely block which is okay if the in line TE is good at it. For instance can he block like NWI? Thats all thats really needed.

Does Geisecki really never line up tight? If thats the case the Titans don't run enough 11 to really justify signing him.

Gesicki has lined up inline less than 30% on average over the last several years. Bigger percentage both in the slot and outside WR.

It would be a similar signing strategically to the Humphries signing.

You'd still add a real TE, like an OJ Howard/Kyle Rudolph/Mo Alie-Cox/Durham Smythe

sounds like. hard to justify for a team with this offensive philosophy.

I think it makes sense with Tim Kelly and Downing's propensity for running more 3 wide. Seems like a viable third receiving option behind AJB and Julio who has versatility as a moving piece.

Basically a much much more effective version of Firkser who can do more than find gaps in zone coverage.

As long as there are two genuine blocking TE on the roster having Gesicki as the 3rd veteran receiving option behind AJ Brown/Julio Jones isn't a terrible idea.

Firkser played less than 40% of the snaps. Not sure you can pay Gesecki for that amount of snaps. If they sign him they would have to run more 11

When Firkser is on the field, it is almost always 11 personnel with him lined up dethatched from the formation in the slot.

But yeah, presumably you would run even more 11, similar to when they had Humphries and Firkser. Gesicki is basically both players combined as a receiving target.

Tim Kelly is known for running a lot of 11.

yeah. we talked about this during the season. 11 with Firkser is basically 10 and 12 with him is 11. Personally I'd love to the see the Titans run more 11. I think Henry would excel running out of 11 against Nickel too.

I think the better play might be to sign one of those FA TE's mentioned.  And the use the money to add a starting OL or WR.  Instead of spending money on Geisicki (let's face it, he's going to cost a lot) and adding in an In line TE.
