scine09
What do you think about the Texans vs. Titans now? What I think is the Texans are a very good team and the Titans are a young team trying to find their way. It's basically the typical 13-3 vs 6-10 matchup. I do think that the game was a lot closer than the score would have indicated, however.

OILERMAN
All kidding aside on this schedule. Here is the problem... Last season when the Titans faced top QBs they were completely blown off the field. Those QBs threw 13 TDs 1 INT and had their way with ease. The defense did gain Wimbley but they lost Finny and Jason Jones. The Titans have no coverage LBs, their safeties were abused by top QBs last season and they missed out on a CB in free agency and only have two proven CBs. Anyone thinking the Titans defense has a chance to slow these top QBs down is totally in denial. The draft is going to help but you can't expect much from a rookie and free agency has been picked clean for the most part. On offense we get either noodle arm or a first time starting QB. Anyone really expect the Titans to win shootouts? please. It's not even so much the schedule is so hard this season, it's that the schedule ended up so soft last season. Any more questions? Cyrus you were a little off on predicting 9 or 10 wins for the Titans and the demise of the Texans. I told everyone those losses the Texans had would make little difference. Vegas even had the Colts with a better chance at the SB than the Titans

I told everyone those losses the Texans had would make little difference. Vegas even had the Colts with a better chance at the SB than the Titans Of course the Titans have failed to deliver. The offense has been atrocious and I expected the run game to be better than last season (although not be great). I think that if Locker continues to miss games that it will significantly impact their win percentage (Locker could have made the Titans much more competitive against the Vikings). Overall they look like a six win team or worse right at this very moment. I still think that the Texans will fall off a bit. Perhaps they continue to play at a high level for another year, but they've had a very easy schedule thus far. On monday, the Jets almost managed to win before throwing it away at the end. OILERMAN
Hahaha....freakin Oman. My prediction is pretty much AvgJoes but a couple minor tweaks. 12-4: W vs. Patriots W @ Chargers L vs. Lions L @ Texans W @ Vikings W vs. Steelers W @ Bills W vs. Colts L vs. Bears W @ Dolphins --- W @ Jaguars W vs. Texans W @ Colts W vs. Jets L @ Packers W vs. Jaguars
OILERMAN
You're(OILERMAN) not a pragmatist just because you think (or appear to think) the team is going to regress to the point of losing four straight games out of the gate/start 1-5 and/or finish off with a losing record. Maybe you're not a pessimist either but you're probably closer to that than the other thing. It's either that or you're a total wackadoo who thinks we should start planning for 2013 already. Or I knew what I was talking about

imemtitan
Quick CMJ, pull up the Babin prediction, you can't take this kind of beating laying down. Otherwise we might need to throw in the towel.
oldschool
Classic thread. I had them going 5-11 this year. All the posters who predicted 10+ wins aren't laughing now.
WG53
Why is it always either or around here? Is 3-3 or even 4-2 really so hard to believe? The Steelers defense is getting older by the minute at this point, the Patriots defense is no Steel Curtain either, Tom Brady is as old as he's ever been, the Chargers are always hit n' miss (especially early in the season), the Lions have been just as inconsistent, and I still think the Texans are paper tigers. Also, why is it so hard to believe that maybe the Titans are turning the corner? Maybe they're actually on an upswing and with a solid draft they could at the very least match what they did last year and possibly more. Does anyone even remember the draft the team had last year? Maybe they were just blind squirrels swimming in an ocean of acorns last April, but don't you think they've earned at least a little benefit of the doubt? Bottom line... no one really knows jack shit about what's going to happen and all this Rush Limbaughing isn't going to change that fact. There are plenty of scenarios that point either way for the Titans. Why not? The Patriots every year since 2008 have lost a September road game, always to lesser opponents. The Chargers I think are no better than the Titans at this point and will be coming off a Monday night game. Detroit will be coming off a tough Sunday night game at SF. Two road games in a row is always tough. Houston is a game I don't see the Titans winning. Pittsburgh is beatable, especially in a primetime game. I can easily see a 4-2 start. Right now, and I am always an optimist, I see the Titans at 11-5, losing at SD, at Hou, vs Chi, at Mia and at GB. Bahahahahahahaha
