I don't watch much UFC and I don't proclaim to be some kind of expert on these fights but I don't see any way Rousey isn't pummeled again if there is a rematch.

You might get a better fight putting me in a ring with Mike Tyson.

I think the issue is that her camp touted her as the female Mike Tyson of MMA, and she came out trying to act like she knew how to box, when really, her form looked sloppy as hell, and Holm, having a lot of experience in kick boxing whooped her ass.

Rousey's bread & butter is Judo. To her credit, she had gotten a couple of KO's in her last few fights, but she really got away from what she's good at when she fought Holm.

I think Holm takes the rematch, but I don't expect to see Rousey pretending to be a KO artist again.

Yep. Her ego told her she could beat any fighter any style and that is what she is out to prove. She wanted to outbox this girl and she got killed.

If she gets her head on right and fights her style it could be totally different. I doubt it thought. She doesn't have the eye of the Tiger and has gone Hollywood.

My understanding (though I don't follow MMA as closely as I used to) is that Stranger is pretty spot on.  I've heard for over a year that her camp, given her level of success/fame, really isn't ideal and that she had more than a few 'yes' men in her corner.  She never was a great striker, though she did get better within the last year or so.  However, she still took a couple of rough shots from opponents she'd ultimately steamroll.  Her camp trying to sell her BS by saying she'd win belts as a pure boxer probably got in her head and make her think she was more well rounded than what she was.

I still don't see how Rousey beats her even with a different fighting style.  Rousey tried to grapple and wrestle her and was thrown onto the mat.

That other chick will just keep punching her in the face and there's nothing she can do about it.

Rousey claimed she could actually beat Floyd Mathweather.

Not a chance in hell, Mayweather would win a boring 12 round decision

Did she actually claim that herself?  I heard other people try to say that but didn't hear it from her.

I don't know if she ever said she could beat him in a boxing match at any other point in time, but she did an AMA on Reddit where she said she thought she could beat him in a "ruleless" fight, but that he'd beat her in a boxing match.

Generally a mma fighter beats a pure boxer. Boxers dont train against grappling. It's not a absurd claim

I get that but it appeared to me Rousey also got her ass kicked when she tried to grapple this chick.

Perhaps, but this chick was trained in how to defend against that. She has trained against grapplers.    I also think Rousey was too committed to prove she could out strike her.   I don't think that match was a good example of Rousey at her best.   Her mindset and training direction matters.

I hope she bounces back for the rematch and we can see her commit to her strengths.   Then we'll have a better idea of if she was really beaten or if she beat herself.  That's what everyone is wondering.

Most seem to be pretty convinced she beat herself before she stepped in.

Part of the strength of Rousey was her perceived invincibility, her opponents were beaten before the fight started in recent matches. She didn't just lose, she got her ass kicked and looked like a fool. Future opponents won't be nearly as intimidated if at all.

Much like Anderson Silva. Chael Sonnen wasn't afraid of him, but just couldn't beat him due to a difference in talent, but he made Silva look like a mere mortal for the 1st time. Insert Chris Weidman, who also isn't afraid, and has the exact skill set that Silva is weak against, and there you go.
