The Mett crap continues mainly because of the level of Mett-homerism displayed by board regulars last year.  Last year, it wasn't Nines or BK trying to portray every poster as either a 'Mett-homer/Locker-hater' or 'Locker-homer/Mett-hater.'  That was done by some board regulars, as well as some newer posters that have now gone MIA.

I wanted Williams in the draft, and thought we could roll with Mett for another year; but it does please me a little to see all the guys claiming that Mett's preseason passing yardage meant he was destined for Canton, eating some crow or abandoning the board. Some of those posters rarely post this year, so a little banter with BK or Nines is enjoyable for me.

Banning someone is BS, and is surprises me to see one of the rare posters I respect around here, advocate it.  If you don't like someone's posts, block them.

I don't actually want to ban anyone, for the record. That part was a joke. I just put that stuff about the NFL banning posters in so the thread would have NFL talk and not get moved ;)   like the other 50 threads Jamal references. I'm actually a bit surprised that more people didn't pick up on the intended lightness of my original post. I would never seriously suggest that the NFL push moderators into banning people on message boards. That's ridiculous....I thought, obviously so.

What I would prefer is that the board have a feature where if you have a user ignored, it will also ignore posts where someone quotes that user.

I don't always look at the username before reading a post, so whenever someone quotes someone I have on ignore, I end up wasting a bit of time before I realize I need to move to the next post.

I doubt anyone thought you were lobbying the NFL for the banning of trolls, but the overall gist seemed to be more in-line with what many on here have advocated for weeks, and thus, seemed more sincere.

As I said in my first post, it did seem weird coming from you.
