ALTitan
Yeah, the guy is an animal. Was he that good in shoot outs during the regular NHL season? On a separate topic, besides watching desperate & cute housewives, what is the point of curling?
Mercalius
Oshie was great, and yeah - that's why he was on the team. Almost purely a SO specialist. A decent, not great, goal scorer but killer in overtime. The no-goal due to Quick knocking the goal slightly off the mooring was a bit sketchy but I'll take the win. Amazing game for sure. freakingeek
Damn I hated getting up at 6:30 am on a Saturday morning to watch hockey but it was well worth it. Fantastic game. USA dodged a bullet with the late Russian goal. I doubt we pull it out if that goal stands. Jonathan Quick played a fabulous game. How about that prick Radulov? He kept team USA in the game. Skilled player but a world class dumass. Glad he's not a Predator even if we do need the scoring power.
ALTitan
Voynov, Quick's teammate @ LA, called US goalie a cheater: It is all over the news with the different interpretations.
ALTitan
I've studied the schedule.... Assuming Canada will beat Finland and US & Russia will win tomorrow then Canada (N1 seed), Sweden, US, Russia will advance to 1/4. Assuming that these 4 teams will win in 1/4 then Canada will play Russia in 1/2 and US vs. Sweden in the other 1/2.
freakingeek
I'd like to see another Russia/USA game for the gold. Intensity level would be off the charts
Guest
Does anyone know what the rules are for OT in the medal round? I think they play a full period…maybe even 2 periods…and then they go to a shootout. Anyway it'll be great bullshit if a team ends up winning in a shoot out. Cheap. It should be like the Stanley Cup playoffs. No shootout, you play until someone scores. Also this shootout rule where after 3 guys go you can send the same guy out there everytime is bullshit. Smart of the US team to put Oshie on there though.

Intensity level would be off the charts It's not really 100% authentic hockey if Canada isn't involved Pal. Russia- Canada is the pinnacle but USA-Canada would be huge too. ALTitan
Canada - USA can play only in 1/2 now. Either team can play Russia only in the Final, I think.
NashvilleNinja
Anyone else read about the guy who was responsible for the Olympic logo lights who was found dead the next day after the opening event?

They will play the winner of the Switzerland/Latvia game on Tuesday. Had they won in regulation, they would have been a 1 seed. For all the star power Canada has, they didn't dominate Finland. I really thought it was going to go to a shootout. Switzerland defense has only allowed one goal in 2 games and that was with 7 seconds left in the game. They are tough. Should Canada get by Switzerland and team USA gets by the winner of the Czech Republic/Slovakia game they will meet in the semis for the right to play in the Gold medal game. https://twitter.com/mirtle/status/435133726939312130/photo/

Russia- Canada is the pinnacle but USA-Canada would be huge too. There's so much bleedover from the NHL, the affiliation doesn't mean nearly what it used to. That said Canada could have fielded two complete all star teams with the guys they had available to them. It's going to be great hockey from here on out. I'm lovin me some DVR. Today I watched USA/Slovenia, Canada/ Finland and Russia/Slovakia.
Guest
I was just kidding. USA Russia would be a great final but people would be crying up here that's for sure. I'm very happy to see Kessel looking like one of the most dominant players in the tourney, if not the most dominant. Anyway, anything can happen in a one game series. Upsets usually happen. These lesser known teams are putting up some great fights.
freakingeek
A Russia-USA final would be great but a Canada-USA matchup in the semis will be rockin if the cards fall right. I haven't seen Sweden play yet either. It's going to be hard to record these games so I can watch when I get home from work but try to keep from finding out who won during the day.
