If those were "gut shots" they are the weakest I have ever seen. These are professional football players. Their full time job is football. This is not the same as trying to do things with your opposite arm. They practice their steps and technique all the time. Their point would be relevant if the switch occurred during a game or during the season when practice time is spent on other things but it is a total nonfactor when you have an entire offseason of practice at the position.

It is no different than discussing whether a guy will be a DE or a DT or DE or LB imo. It is not silly. He is more athletic than almost every TE prospect in this draft. So I hardly think other TE prospects matter in regards to where he plays. As for him playing DE I like him as a prospect and he has outstanding measurables but the tape shows he has issues that will limit him unless corrected and they were evident at the senior bowl. He plays too high. Which some will blame it on his height. True his height does make it harder to get lower but when you stand straight up immediately it does not matter how tall you are you will lose all leverage. Limited arsenal of pass rush moves. Once again a correctable issue. And despite his frame he needs to work on batting down passes. He is worth a selection based on blocking kicks alone. I think he will be overdrafted. He should be a late 2nd to third round guy but I think he will go late first due to his workouts.

So you can drop the pretense that I am bickering. Did I insult you? I have actually dialed that down lately and only done so in retaliation. You point out that Hunt is new to football and that being part of why his production is where it was. That is true. He will be 26 when the season starts. I would add that Thompson was a 3 star TE coming out of HS and that he was new to learning DE too. I just pointed out they are similar prospects from the same school and seeing as the idea of Hunt converting to TE is not unheard of thought people could talk about it. 6'6 vs 6'8 and 280 vs 277 is absolutely comparable. Thompson slimmed down some(21 lbs) to play TE. They both ran a 4.6 They both had 8 sacks their senior years from the same program. I am not saying anyone is considering Hunt a TE but he certainly has the athleticism to do so. As for physicality surely you are not saying Thompson lacks it.

Not really a vast difference. Almost identical measurables and production. Thompson would be a decent DE too. The only difference in the two was the blocked kicks.

Stranger things have happened. We did draft his teammate in the 5th round last year who played DE and switched him to TE.
