  1. Yes we do. It was a common practice during the time period GRRM based the series on. He goes out of his way to point out how important consummation is to the whole process as well.
  2. Tyrion's marriage to Sansa is null since it was never consummated. Even if that weren't true it definitely became null when Ramsey boned her as part of thier marriage pact.
  3. I hold out hope GRMM is trolling the show and that Faegon is actually the 3rd head of the Dragon instead of Tyrion.
  4. so no whitelist for me? I'm hurt.
  5. did your ad blocker tell you that?
  6. Come on, the link was from Forbes. Your ad blocker/white list comment was funny in a sad way.
  7. its Forbes. learn to internet.
  8. Interesting article. Of course the show lovers will just scream "book elitist"... but it's spot on in my opinion. I've argued for the past 3 or 4 years that the show runners don't truly understand the source material. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if GRRM totally fucks them over and goes in a different direction. https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2017/07/24/this-is-what-worries-me-about-game-of-thrones-after-last-nights-episode/#3dbdcb633b74
  9. any ending with Dany or Jon on the throne is basically a happy one.
  10. Littlefinger isn't helping Cersie unless she starts winning. Pretty awesome season opener though.
  11. Its heavily foreshadowed. I'm comvinced he and Jon complete the 3 headed dragon.
  12. No wonder you are a former journalist.
  13. Sanderson did a pretty decent job of finishing Jordan's work all things considering.
  14. This is what GRRM does though. Think about how you felt when Jaime pushed Bran out of that window in book 1 and contrast that with how you feel about Jaime at the end of book 5. Its its strongest work as a writer in my opinion. Sansa's arc is a little different though as one can play the coming of age angle with her but that seems little too contrived for my taste. I still wonder if Sansa will have the impact in the books that she does in the show.
  15. Yeah I was wrong. Won't be the last time.
  16. Doubtful. They have a very good Iineup.
  17. Seriously?
  18. Would you consider it though? Just trying to gauge whether it's worth the time investment.
  19. Has anyone done a POV focused reread? I've read the first 3 books 3 or 4 times and books 4 and 5 twice. I'd like to switch it up. Thoughts?
  20. @Mercalius I don't buy the Sansa is mad that Jon didn't stand for her from the post episode show. A point was made to show Sansa deferring to Jon about who should get the lord's quarters. She also turned down Littlefinger which points to here tying herself even further to Jon. I think Sansa marries Robyn and displaces Littlefinger as a final FU to him. She knows what she is doing now.
  21. By the way if Bran crossing the wall while marked negates the spells that keep the White Walkers out how fucking stupid is Bran? He should know better.
  22. I've seen a ton of people harp on this and it doesn't really make any sense. Of course they are going to find a why to write this into the story otherwise it would be pointless to even include it.
  23. Maybe they were married under the old gods? Maybe Ellara was already dead? I just don't buy that GRRM would write this massive reveal of R+L=J if Jon were some other lord's bastard. That would be funny though.
  24. That would be a little too cliche in my opinion. I definitely don't think all the houses will wrap up nicely like Reo posited.
  25. GRMM has stated numerous times there won't be a happy ending. Your version sounds like a Disney movie.
