Interviews from day 1 offseason program

I thought I'd (try to) start a comprehensive thread for interviews today. With it being the first time people were in, and with such good turnout, there's bound to be plenty said today that fans will find interesting.

If you find some good coverage today, feel free to add it here... even if you start a separate thread on it. It might be nice to have a one stop shop for stuff today.

My first submission is the interview with Hutchinson on TitansOnline. One thing I found interesting in here is what he said about Hasselbeck's influence and comments about the team... which all happened in the midst of our flirtation with Manning.

And a note from Wyatt:

#Titans S Michael Griffin, the team's franchise player, signed his waiver Monday so he can work out with teammates in offseason program

I was happy to see this, considering he wasn't thrilled about the tag. Good to see him place the team first.

And another video, this one with Wimbley:

Video: #Titans DE Kamerion Wimbley excited about being unleashed to rush the quarterback http://bit.ly/I9Mu61

Plenty more videos on that link, including almost 13 minutes with Hasselbeck and 6 with Locker.

Regarding the Hasselbeck video:

  • QBs will be requesting the additional time to meet together... "We'll meet probably every day... we have a plan for the first two weeks."
  • OL was strength of team last year, in his opinion.
  • Last year they watched cut-ups of other teams running their plays, this year they'll have videos of themselves and that will add to ability to hold one's self accountable and really diagnose what went wrong. Watch same play 30 different times adds to knowledge base.
  • Says people always talk about Manning and Leaf from that draft, but reminds everyone he was pick #187. "Don't know why they leave me out, but I was there..."
  • Re the QB competition: "Oh, it's on baby, it's on."
  • He called CJ "Kind of a leader on our team."

In the CJ video on that same page, he notes that he came in at 197 lbs.... a bit heaver than normal.

He also mentions that he had to "get over an injury or something like that" before he started working out earlier in the offseason. That he said it in passing suggests it was small/inconsequential. Almost everyone has one injury or another at the end of the year.

CJ and VY...love and loved the guys when they played/play here...but they should NOT be interviewed EVER. Its so hard to listen to them speak, so much so that I don't listen or watch any of his interviews on Titans Online, I just go to guys that are worth listening to like JLock, MM, etc.

Just a thought...you think the FO isn't giving the tag/contract to sign just in case Barron falls? In that case, we would draft Barron and drop Griff...just a random thought I had after reading Rotoworld's blob on Anthony Spencer today.

I'd have to read the blurb to know exactly what you're thinking, because I might be confused, but Griff signed and was there today.

http://rotoworld.com...anthony-spencer

"...Dallas could have rescinded the one-year, fully guaranteed tender after the draft if it emerged with a replacement for Spencer, so he smartly got it signed early in the week..."

I could be confused as I can get mixed up with the deadlines and rules of the offseason but from what I know didn't Griff sign a waiver and not his tag?

Interesting... I hadn't made the distinction for some reason.
