My dad moved to SF in the early 80s and sent me a Niners jacket. I was instantly hooked. Good coaches. Good players. No scandals. A dynasty people could admire or at least respect, even if they weren’t fans of the team. Now the best team in history consists of a shithead coach and a shithead QB. And a long list of shithead players. Most recently Gronk, but it goes way back. I wish the Pats just “did their jobs” and played great football without all the cheating and assholishness. I’d have no problem with it. I’d even appreciate it and say “great job.” But no. And the game will have a permanent scar on its face due to their ways if you ask me. No sour grapes here. I was deeply disgusted and highly offended because it ruined the game. That’s just my nature. Losing fairly is respectable. Winning unfairly makes one a cunt. I’ve been cynical about the world in general for years, but I thought sports, for the most part, were a healthy distraction. Guess not. Jesus. Nothing appears to be holy.
