Trump didn't know if a strong dollar was good or bad

I don't disagree, was just pointing out by saying that there are MANY MANY people the ACA didn't help at all and others that it actually hurt. If that's the one thing he can truly hang his hat on, it's not difficult to see why so many people didn't appreciate his presidency and not simply because he was a democrat.

It's easily not the only thing for him to hang his hat on so the discussion is moot.

Obviously it's a success to get that many people insured, but if someone wants to have that as their crowning achievement it is VERY EASY to say why a lot of people didn't like him. Obamacare doesn't help any single person I regularly interact with... Does that mean he is not a success to all those people he didn't help?

I have no beef with Obama but if the ACA is his crowning achievement, that isn't even close to a great presidency IMO

PS - I don't think that is the only thing he has done but a blanket statement of how successful he was simply because of the ACA is a joke

I'd say his success outweight his negatives, which is the sign of a good president. America's healthcare system has been behind all the other first world countries for years. At least this got us moving in the right direction. I'm still for a single payer system.

The Democrats did an unbelievably poor job selling the ACA to the public at large.

It's funny, people love most of Obamacare when the dummies are presented with individual aspects of it(pre-existing, kids up to 26 etc...). They just don't like it being called "Obama"care. Some of the more extreme dullards don't know the difference between The ACA and Obamacare.

They should have had a public option

Their biggest mistake was having a black guy with a Muslim sounding name as president!

Sorry oldschool democrats did fine there's just a bunch of racist fools in this country.

No they didn't. The Bill was a start but it didn't go far enough. The Dems didn't spend enough time countering the absurd GOP claims but that's part for the course. The GOP is awesome at staying on message while the Dems struggle to do the same.

I've heard this valentine to the GOP from other progressives.  It's inaccurate, especially now that the GOP has sold their soul on national security.

Believe what you want. All you have to do is listen to interviews with the GOP to understand its fact.

I thought the dems put up a decent fight on that front it's just that the republicans are very very good at messaging and propaganda. How do you fight "Obama wants to kill your grandma on a death panel" when you've already given the facts and people are still choosing to believe the propaganda? At what point do we put the onus on the voters?
