There were several players I would have put in over Terrell Davis. I dont think TD deserved to be in. He had 4 great seasons thats it. The rest of his career was ruined by injuries but that doesnt mean he is a HOFer. This makes me think Megatron will be a first ballot HOFer.

TO not getting in is ridiculous.

TO will get in eventually. But there are consequences to the negative stuff you do as a player.

And I have no doubt Megatron will be a first ballot HOF inductee. He should be. He was the most dominant individual WR of his years. Also, not an asshole...

TO was a diva. Thats no reason to make one of the best WRs to play wait. Its not like he was a woman beater or drug addict. I agree he is going to get in eventually but it makes the HOF look bad IMO.

The stuff that TO did goes beyond just being a diva. No, he wasn't a wife beater or a drug addict, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a locker room cancer on multiple teams.

I don't see what that has to do with getting in the HOF or not. As far as we know, he's not a cheater. He's not Bonds or Clemons. It should be merit based, not because of personal feelings. TO has the longevity and the numbers. I don't see how Terrell Davis is more worthy.

Are there any locker room cancers in the HOF?

Of course personal feelings matter. It's not just stats.

As for TD, he waited a decade before the voters felt he deserved to get in. Partly it was waiting for a weak enough year but enough people just had to decide that a short, brilliant career was just as worth as a long one that wasn't quite so amazing.

Character isnt a criteria for the HOF. Hell Darren Sharper was nominated for the HOF. How many locker room cancers had the type of career TO did? They better make Randy Moss wait a few years too.

TO is 3rd all time in receiving TD, 2nd all time in receiving yards, 8th all time in receptions. Played 15 seasons. Put up a good portion of those #s before the NFL got extremely pass crazy. Marvin Harrison is in the HOF but TO isn't.

If they don't let the best players in just because they aren't liked it is BS.  TO was as good as anybody and his career as a WR rivals Tomlinson's as a RB.  And I'm sorry TD got hurt but longevity is part of the equation.  There are a bunch of RBs more deserving IMO.  http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/rush_yds_career.htm

How about Edge James?  Look at his stats over 10 years.  Good at catching the ball as well.  Getting to the SB for a RB is not that big of a deal.  It is luck being on a team with John Elway.

TO wasn't just not liked though. He was an outright locker room cancer throughout most of his career. People don't seem to get this. How many teams would dump a HOF player in his prime? Multiple teams dumped his ass.

As for TD, there are no hard and fast rules for who deserves to get in to the HOF. It's all up to the voters. Davis was borderline because of his longevity but the fact that it was even arguable despite that means to me that there's plenty of reason to induct him.
