I have to admit Jamal has surprised me in that he seems sharp and insightful on these podcasts after being on the board with him for years and often wondering if he could dress himself properly. The directors at ESPN are constantly in the broadcasters ears telling them to mix it up some and argue and make it somewhat compelling beyond just the info. Look at all the most famous on air personalities...guys like Rome, Cowherd, Patrick...they all have an edge to them. As many people that like them...just as many don't...maybe more don't. That's OK. People listen and they are captured. You guys shouldn't be afraid to bring a little edge to things. We know guys like Scotty and Jamal can bring it hard on the boards and you shouldn't be afraid to bring it on the podcasts with equal vigour. And there doesn't need to be one type of podcast and one format only. You can have serious shows. You can have goofy shows. You cna have it in between. Guest Posted November 25, 2011 Report Share Posted November 25, 2011 There was a general invite on the mod board and I talked about going on with Scotty but I thought we both said we were too busy right now and we would do it later. Apparently there was a more specific convo with Scotty later and he decided to go on. I thought if we went on together we would have lots of laughs but I guess I'm the only one who thought so. Honestly I originally thought Jamal was your typical sausage squad/CJ homer as well but he's sharper than that group, he just doesn't like to admit he might have been wrong on certain issues.
