Can't wait to see Jones on the ice this fall!

Nor can most of the hockey world.  He's got Jay-Z's sport's agency behind him (if I'm remembering right who has gone on record of saying he wants hockey to be more mainstream like the NFL, NBA, etc) and the national media (NHLN, TSN, etc) have been showing us crazy love for taking him - saying how we're now a premiere place to land for free agency, and we've been one of the most trending things on Twitter since the draft started.  Jones is going to be big for this organization.  The ties Popeye has to the area are just icing on the cake.

The Preds really lucked out this year. I dont think they are nearly as bad as picking 4th overall would indicate. There is a lot of parity in the NHL and with last season being a lockout shortened year, I think that added even more to the unpredictability of it all. Great year to have a down year and pick up a guy with #1 overall potential. I could definitely see the Preds being good next season even without a huge impact from Jones. His impact should be felt for the next decade. And those are the players you win cups with

Shocked to see Vancouver got so little for a proven commodity like Schneider. I guess with the volitility of goalies these days and guys who seem to come out of nowhere every year that teams are hesitant to give up too much when the goaltending position is so unpredictable year to year

What an awesome deal for the Preds that Jones fell to 4.

If he ends up to be what he projects to be this also means the Preds will be likely trading Weber for a bevy of assets in 3-4 years time or sooner.
