Trotz is an awesome coach and from an arms length perspective every Preds season seems to follow a script of starting slow and Trotz slowly molding the team into a lean mean machine that catches fire at some point and ends up playing way over it's head. I am sure that is not the way every season has unfolded down there but from up here in the frozen tundra it sure seems like it.

So yes a 48 game sched might not be ideal if the curve follows the same trajectory.

I wouldn't be upset if Trotz signed a contract to coach for life. I love that guy.

I hope they show more toughness on the boards tonight.. Yeah Trotz can stay in nashville as long as he likes.. I just can't see anyone doing a better job with what we have to work with.. He gets the best out of guys.

I'm betting Mercalius is tiring of Trotz' non championship winning ways.

Trotz has won playoff games the last two season in a row. I'm A-OK with the guy. Folding during shootouts gets old, but that's sorta been our model for awhile now.

I'm sure that won't last. A couple more years without Lord Stanley and you'll be talking about how much better off the little team that couldn't will be without Trotz and if you're lucky enough for them to listen to you you'll get to pick in the top 5 of the draft for a couple of years before they move away for good.

Where oh where do you come up with these false projections of people? I've always liked Trotz as a coach and I don't see that changing anytime soon, Cup or not.

Are you just butthurt we retained Weber after you swore it wouldn't happen? Or is it that Nashville's still selling out games after you said we were a terrible market? Or is this you lamely shifting an argument where I called out Fisher for lack of playoff wins (not SBs) relative to other coaches into an entirely different sport where postseason success is hardly comparable?

Whatever it is, quit being dense.

Weber's contract wasn't up. What I was saying was they had no chance at resigning Suter...yep...i then took it one step further and said the next year they would lose Weber. Poile was very smart not to let Weber hit free agency. Believe me, loike you didn't with Suter, that if hits open market he was gone. Then again after losing Suter he probably felt like he had no choice to lock him up sooner.

Nashville has a solid core of 5-10K in fans but they have little to no support from the business community and it is a terrible market for hockey for that reason and without the benevolence of the bigger teams profit sharing and agreeing to caps and all kinds of shit that allows the team to barely survive there and long term it probably won't. Not so sure about all those sellouts either except during playoff time and maybe some weekend games but whatever.

How rich is the local TV contract? Lol.

You'll turn on Trotz Merc. Can't keep losing in the playoffs forever. We're past 16 years now aren't we? He hadn't won a playoff series until last year! Did you have him under the axe before then? He'll be back there soon.

Here we go again- just another obvious derailment for you to trash on Nashville hockey while having to go back and edit/reword things you were wrong about in the past. Obviously we all saw it coming.

And Trotz has nothing to do with Jeff Fisher. Oh, and if you're gonna keep attempting to put words in my mouth and mis-represent things I said in the Fisher thread, at least do it when you know I won't respond immediately. You may have a few hours at least before I correct you.

You really hate the truth don;'t you? Sorry i laughed at you guys when you talked of keeping Suter. Just a dash of realism for you man. Now that would be a good thread to dig up. Truth stay away!

It's the smallest market in the NHL with the least amount of business support and it loses money every year. I missed 36 games of the regular season this year because of continually propping up small franchises like Nashville. I have no hate for it. I hope all this labour interruption ends up working for franchises like this and it's not for nothing. I like watching televised games from the arena down there because the crowd is great.

Would you like to see some attendance numbers now on all these sell outs? I'll wait for you to come back "in a few hours" to correct me on what an economically viable powerhouse the Preds are.

We both well understand that my comments had little to do with the Preds and everything to do with you being a hypocrite who thinks after winning 1 or 2 series in his entire history as a coach means Trotz is cool wioth you but Fisher was garbage. How the hell does that work? Lol.

Don't lie. You've wanted Trotz fired before and you will again. Why always so dishonest?

First off, thanks for going back and editing your post after I initially responded to try and include more bullshit points all in the self admitted attempt to make me look "like a hypocrite." You're transparent as fuck, and I knew the second you mentioned my name an actual discussion of hockey was the last thing on your mind. But, I'll edit my own post and correct your foolishness further.

I don't hate the truth Avril, I hate some ignorant Canadian boasting how "third class" a very legitimate hockey team in the South is. Yeah, the Preds aren't the most profitable thing right now, but we've proven we can sustain the franchise even through much, much worse times. It's been steadily growing in popularity here for the last 5 seasons and wouldn't surprise me at all if we were profitable in another 2 or 3. Bridgestone is actually going to be going through several upgrades in the near future including another entranceway and more retail shops/restaurants. It would be a pretty short sighted business model to put that time and money into something that, as you put it, will just continue to hemorrhage money hand over fist and likely be out of the state altogether in a couple of years. We sold out 25 times last season, TV ratings are steadily going up, and anyone who isn't an entire country away can tell you that the Preds are a trending commodity right now. So your point about us being some small market team that only a few thousand people care about is completely full of shit.

Beyond that, you were also blatantly wrong about Weber. You tried to preach down to us that there's no way we'd keep him and the best we could hope for was getting a few good years out of our guys from the draft because there's no chance we'd pony up the money to keep a big name. We couldn't keep Suter and Weber. Not many teams could, but of the two, we made the right choice. You outright said we'd be left with neither. So again, you're full of shit.

And no, dipshit, I've never wanted Trotz fired. Yet again, just because your dumbass thinks something does not make it true. Show me where I said Fisher was garbage? I said he was a good coach if your lying ass is too lazy to look that post back up. I just said that comparatively speaking around the league, he wasn't anything more than good. Comparing a hockey coach to an NFL coach is seriously apples to oranges. I know you're fond of smoking yourself retarded before you post on here, but surely you're not so burned out that you don't see that. Two entirely different situations completely, with one of them trending towards success over the last few years- and that man doesn't wear Oakleys and parade around in a Peyton Manning jersey for fun. Yet again, the evidence leads us to believe you're full of shit.

And I'm so sorry you missed some games this year because of the holdout. Maybe in another 20 years Canada can win a Cup again so all your tv time will at least be well spent. And why the Hell are you so concerned with my "honesty" on here anyway? You're one of the world's worst about projecting an opinion on someone that isn't remotely accurate to what they've said, or even believe, and arguing that point to death with completely dishonest assertions. In other words, you're the hypocrite who's completely full of shit. So really, go fuck yourself and get off my nuts.
