A "67" year old theory? Was this article written by an extremely verbose 15 year old?

A 15-year old who hasn't learned about proper use of a/an?

"A “impossible” molecule has finally been tamed in water—proving a 67-year-old theory and hinting at a cleaner future for chemistry."

Being told this is potentially huge. Any chemical engineers out there that could break this down for me better than chatgpt?

I'm not a chem engineer, but w/o providing what an AI bot told you, how would any of us know if we could do it better?  From the article, it looks like it is 1) safer (not having to use toxic shit); and 2) same as biological.  I assume the biological part opens many doors for genetic engineering shit.
