I think Republicans being ruthless, corrupt, lawbreaking scumbags is just built into the expectation, so when a Dem does even a tiny little thing wrong, it’s front page news. No, when its anything with the Dems bo matter how trivial, Republicans blow it up and Dems play lip service to it to show they're not hypothetical. So ends up everyone talks about it.
