However, as noted above, the evidence against Bobby Dassey was very important to the defense and was withheld by Fassbemder. The guy perjured himself on the stand and was a deranged lunatic (preteen porn and massive amounts of pictures of dead women mutilated), yet he was supposedly the last one to see her. The fact they didn’t ask the boyfriend or the roommate for an alibi...etc. That all happened. The fact they never brought a coroner in was withheld and thrown out as well. There’s a ton of evidence showing he was framed, or at the very least the police withheld an inordinate amount of evidence from the defense, which in and of itself is grounds for a mistrial.
