SleepingTitan
Should've been there November 10,2013 against the 0-10 Jags another very terrible game where Jake started ice cold losing a fumble, throwing an interception before injuring himself right before the half with the score 13-0 as Locker could not muster a single point. Then Fitzpatrick on his first possession leads the team straight to a touchdown which made Locker look even worse. The team lost that day 29-27 something i blame squarely on Locker. He sucked way before the Dallas game a year later in September 2014. Oh there were many games. You know you got a shitty qb when the fans quote 250yds 2 td 1 int as evidence that he's "progressing" or on his way to being a star. All that "if he can stay healthy" talk was bullshit. He was never a 60% passer. Not in college either. He honestly was Vince Young 2.0, but Vince WON and could throw the ball over 20 yards. Last year Delanie and other wide receivers could've had shoulder injuries from how much calling for the ball they did. That will be a challenge for Mariota, to hit the guy right when he's open. In the NFL, the window closes so fast. If you watch Mariota tape, you'll see that, yeah, a lot of guys are wide open. They are in the NFL too, just not for as long. Maybe 0.5-1.5 secs...which is how quickly they gotta diagnose & release.
luvyablue256
As Troy Aikman said they were throws that an NFL QB has to be able to make, and Jake Locker couldn't make them. If you listen to Troy Aikman enough you'd know he's not really critical of players. The fact that Aikman said that told me all I needed to know. In that game Whisenhunt was asking him to make easy passes from the pocket. He couldn't do it. Have we ever seen Mariota throw from the pocket? Number9
Maybe this has been posted before but just thought I'd share just in case it hasn't. Not exactly what I was expecting to see. MM made a lot of excellent throws that will translate to the NFL. Some of the written analysis I have seen of his play has been maybe harder on him than necessary. The team is going to have to make plays and protect him. He has been blamed for hitting wide open WRs, but that's not his fault. I would like to see some over the shoulder and back shoulder throws, but I see no reason he can't make those from his film. I like his ball placement in the end zone. I also saw he did not take many big hits. I know those were TD replays, but he protects himself well. I am still concerned about the Titans OL. They have to take their games to the next level.
