I hope this isn't the case despite the odds. We all talk shit to each other of which I'm guilty, but behaving as such will never result in Jake and those that share his views changing their minds. I know it wouldn't change my mind, and in fact would only cause me to dig my heels in deeper. Either way, the only way we can undo the damage done is to vote come November.

This is a false dilemma. Trump can be an idiot and a criminal at the same time. For that matter, he's not evaded investigation. As for the CNN quote, I did a quick Google search and only found them suggesting that he's a media mastermind, which is true. Jake, I don't think you're an idiot. I'm not as enlightened regarding all of American politics myself, but I don't pretend to be either. I may disagree with your political views, but I can at least try to understand why you and other right leaning members might not like the left, but how can you put all your eggs in the Trump basket when he and Senate Republicans are impeding the truth from being revealed at every possible opportunity? Even if it would completely absolve him of any wrong doing? Despite our differences, we should both expect better from our elected officials. We can do better than Trump!!

I read a Twitter thread earlier talking about how these (among other things) are symptoms of his dementia getting worse. They speculated that within 9 months he'll be so bad off that even the GOP won't be able to deny it and that he likely won't even be on the 2020 ticket.

When this is all said and done, the last line of defense from his supporters will be how cruel and evil we are for mocking a disabled man.
