luvyablue256
The Titans can't simply start Mett over Whitehurst. It would cause a huge controversy and put a lot of pressure on the rookie, who may not be ready for it. If that's the case, no rookie should ever be named started. Ever. SleepingTitan
Ask Mike Tannenbaum how his career is going, shitbird. It took em like 6 years AND they signed him to an extension prior to his release. GFYS
SleepingTitan
The Titans can't simply start Mett over Whitehurst. It would cause a huge controversy and put a lot of pressure on the rookie, who may not be ready for it. However, they could start Whitehurst, while talking all week about how he's not fully recovered from a preseason injury that seems like it should be in the past by now. Then, have that injury 'reaggravate' during the game, forcing them to play Mett because Locker is inactive. Everyone saves face, and they get to play the guy they really wanted to play all along. I'm just saying they could do that...... Mett is ab as cool as they come. The only thing he's not used to is the bench. Whiz is making terrible decisions QB & CB wise
The Hammer
...but im sure there are 100,000,000,000 trollish reasons some will say he's not. Jake Locker looked like a sum bitch off the STREET last week and Whitehurst hasnt started a game since 2009. Bridgewater's ready. Bortles is ready. WHAT IN THE FUCKIN HELL ARE WE WAITING ON? Probably has something to do with the fact Bortles and Bridgewater are better than Mett.

luvyablue256
Mettenberger was every bit as good as Bortles in college. Go watch the tape (full games, not the fan highlights with cheesy top 40 music)
The Hammer
Well, you are right he is better than most 6th rounders. Probably about 4th round level.
MamlngEnvy
Way too early to declare that, and better at precisely what? If you're talking passing the football in the NFL in all the ways that you need to be able to do it, then it's far to early to declare supremacy for Bortles or Teddy in comparison to Mettenberger. Very nice start for Bortles and Teddy, but it takes more than a day to determine that. Mett is no 6th rounder. People really need to get that into their skulls. Mett is far better than that. Mettenberger will get his shot, and I expect him to perform well. Well every gm says your wrong.. And I take their advice over some random METT homer

luvyablue256
OK...if he was the jags woulda took him...or he would a at worst been a second rounder. No they would not. You know why? He was coming off an ACL and had a diluted drug test result. But those are not FOOTBALL. GO WATCH THE FOOTBALL

GO WATCH THE FOOTBALL Those two things are not nearly enough to drop a guy from being the top QB to the sixth round. Johnny Manziel has major character issues and below average physical ability and he still went first round. Even without the issues you mention mett would still be at best the fifth QB taken.
