Not only is it slow as hell with the idiotic advertisements, but Dmeade- has found his true medium there and is running amuck. He is the yin to titansfan's yang. Damn titansfan, you might like i

Village Idiot is a vastly overrated position.

Thanks to Josh for setting this site up in the bunker and I sincerely apologize for everyone for the hosting disaster.

Here's the latest from them, which means we need to find a new hosting partner but that we should be able to migrate all of our info to the new place (but all of that is blind to you guys). If anyone has any good hosting suggestions I am all ears.

A member of staff has replied to your support request.

I apologize for the delay, James. You may login to your cPanel at 208.67.212.177 using your existing cPanel username/password to obtain a current backup from when your site was last online. You may also provide this information to a new hosting provider and should they also use cPanel/WHM, the transfer will be seamless for both you and them.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you.

I've always liked BlueHost. They have affordable unlimited plans and, what I like most of all, have extremely good customer service. Their cPanel is really nice as well.

Time to dump the current webhosting service.. They suck..

I was so afraid I was going to have to revert back to the tomb or gotitans..

It's like swimming in the kiddie pool over there..

Second the thanks for the interim solution... nicely done.

Not sure what our scale is at. For personal sites I recommend Kattare. Only place I've worked with who provides phone support for shared hosting plans:

Share hosting always comes with limits, but Kattare will talk to you to figure it out. If we need a dedicated server I like the Rackspace cloud.

Hey, how much space/bandwidth do you use? Misty(TitansGirl) has a dedicated server(Linux) and is offering to donate space if she has enough. You'd be able to move the domain there.

You could also move your name to my host to direct people here in the interim. I'll just keep my main site down until you have everything back up. It would be better than the suspended message anyways.

Hey JTB,

I've got a virtual dedicated server... I've got what I think is plenty of space unless there's some kind of content that takes up gobs of space (typically audio / video / images if they're hosted locally). I think Josh (TitansGuru) can help us get everything loaded up and live pretty quickly ... I don't mind donating the space; we'll monitor to see if it's sustainable to keep the site there within my plan, which seems "huge" to me, but by the time you do multiple backups for all sites, it can add up. We'll figure it out! Email me if you'd like to discuss and I'll pass on my phone number.

Misty

Unfortunately, it's going to take a bit of time and I have been swamped with real work of late. Hopefully we can be up and running at a new host by next week.

Thanks to all for your patience.

What about phpBB? It's open source. You don't have to purchase a license for it I don't think.

Here are some sites that use it:
