i.e. he didn't hold players accountable. He was a guy everyone liked, but few really respected. That's poison for a football team.

It's honestly pretty bad they kept him past his rookie HC season

Talks a little about Callahan vs Vrabel and how they ran things   Also talks about what he's looking for in a new coach, his relationship with Cam, and his personal growth as a leader

McDaniels deserves more credit

I think there should be a rule, or maybe even some code embedded in the forum, that every find someone types "McDaniels" it automatically gets converted to McDunkles. Just so we know the person that's being referred to is the Patriots OC.

About 40 minutes into the Simmons interview so far and you can easily see his frustration with the coaches not holding players accountable and how the acceptable standard was set so low.

Simmons also talked about threading the fine line between being a leader and calling for a higher standard and not overstepping and risking a divide in the locker room. He touched on a situation where he went after the OL one day in the locker room which made me wonder if this was one of his reported run ins with Latham.

It was pretty obvious that Callahan was bad, regardless of Levis and regardless of several prominent posters on here continuously trying to convince me that his designs were actually good, his playcalling was underrated, and that the team was getting better.

I was critical of him last year, but gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was trying to figure out something that gave Levis the best chance to succeed. When I saw the offensive design looked exactly the same for Ward I officially hit the panic button.

You could see it by the third or fourth game in 23'.  The b/u comes in and completes a bunch of harmless passes, then he adjusted and had Levis throwing the same bs.  Cam appears to have very high beliefs in his ability, but he had to deal with something way outside the norm for a rookie QB's development.

That O line comment is 100% Latham. Glad Jeff stood up and called the. When the coaches were celebrating a rushing milestone when they lost and rushed for under 100 yards as a team. Setting the standard so low for young players.

It’s honestly pretty bad after being 3-4 weeks into the shit of his 2nd season to have posters still preaching he needs more time lmfaoooo

The team was preaching that. They had the insight into Callahan we didn't know, that Simmons addressed. It doesn't matter what uniformed fans think should be done

One thing that I hope Saleh brings in and can learn from Vrabel is out-sourcing game management, situational football,  and challenges.

The part in the Bussin' segment where they touch on the in-game relationship between Vrabel and "Stretch" touches on what was rumored in Nashville.

Vrabel isn't some in-game management mastermind, he just has John Streicher handling all of that in the booth and out-sources it.  The rest of the NFL is slow to pick up on this.

You can be a nice person and still hold people accountable. Nice does not equal passive, or soft.

People who want to do a good job, whatever that job is, hate when shitty peers hold them back. If everyone is just collecting a paycheck and don't give a shit, that's one thing. But if you actually care about being successful and you know Jimmy Jackass isn't doing his job and is making everything harder, then you won't like Jimmy. Even if Jimmy is funny and likeable at first -- eventually that won't matter and you'll lose your mind on him because he's supposed to be a professional and do his damn job right.

And if your boss won't step up and hold those people accountable? We'll now they are making your job harder because they care more about being liked than being successful. Winners want to be around other winners.

So sure, be nice and show respect. These are humans with real feelings and life struggles. They are also getting paid to do a job. Demand they do the job or replace them with someone who will. That's not mean.
