I think it is quite funny how "outraged" some fans are at the current situation.

Well it’s difficult to win (or lose) an NFL game, unless it’s the last one .  This isn’t the NBA where you can “load manage” the team to an expected L.

The titans were starting a backup C and the RB who sucked ass 75% of the year managed to run for a career game against the second ranked defense.

Between now and the time FA actually opens there will be a lot of potential options taken off the table.    Having the league lead in 2026 cap space is not nearly the benefit it would of bee

He and others won't allow themselves to publicly admit that Borgonzi was positioning the team to have more/better draft capital because that also means they'd have to admit that the team losing positions the team to have better/potentially more draft capital.

It's Borgonzi telling us he's tanking without telling us he's tanking, but don't let the purists know. The pearl clutching outrage will be epic.

lol more dumb shit by you. Trading assets mid season doesn't equate to tanking. My god this fan base is so fucking dumb its ridiculous.

Burton had massive red flags ahead of the draft so not at all surprising it has ended this way.

And if there are any Titans fans thinking we should claim him it would go against everything Borgonzi has been trying to build here to bring in a guy like Burton.

I agree that the players aren't tanking.  Some players have questionable motivation, sure.  But as a team, too many players want to put out "good tape", etc.

Management, however, can put out lesser talent, questionable playcalling, etc.

Leave the emotions and prior posting history out of this thought experiment.

Why would one team give up draft picks to acquire a player doing well?

It is in the hopes of making the playoffs in order for the chance to get a Super Bowl.

Why would one team give up said player?

Many reasons - one being that they do not see themselves competing this year.  They then try to maximize the future by sacrificing winning potential in the present season.

The Titans did not have a suitable replacement for the player they sent to the Ravens.  They downgraded the position.

The Titans were not trying to increase their chances of winning this season.

You know this.  I'm not sure why you are twisting the conversation.
