Albert Breer has a few nuggets here about the HC search and some of the analytical studies the team is already undertaking about varying success rates of second time HC and coordinators with more than

It is becoming really annoying how some people are using bad result as an excuse to paint the last HC hiring process as a sham. Facts are Callahan was an in demand candidate during that hiring cycle e

Callahan was a great "candidate" and a terrible head coach.

I'm not sure what he said about Carthon, had he heard something earlier on? - I started listening to him since he joined PK's show, admittedly not all that long ago, and never hear him report on anything - more of a conversation facilitator, which seems to be his role/job. "Idiot" is probably too strong - he's no Stillman or Reising, he's usually just overly opaque and conservative with his observations rather than providing any hard information or unique insights.

He was irking me the other day going on and on about the aesthetics of different stadiums/sports complexes - probably some recency bias on my part about being annoyed by that whole rant and him making comparisons between coaching NFL teams and coaching his daughter's soccer team which just seemed silly.

Maybe I've missed some of his better radio stuff though.

PK is technically on HIS show lol but yeah Braden was talking about the Carthon and Vrabel relationship in camp that first year after he got hired. PK had only really talked about his sources around the league questioning Carthon being qualified for a GM job. If I recall.

i agree his analysis is frustrating often but that’s separate from him relaying inside information.

I was just thinking about something and that’s how often Ron Wolf guys hire offensive minded head coaches. Green Bay hasn’t had one since the 80s. Seattle had Pete and then McDonald but Schneider is kind of a wild dog from that tree. Ballard with Steichen, Reich, McDaniels.  Dorsey with Reid, Kitchens, and Hue Jackson. Scot McCloughan and Reggie McKenzie with the Gruden Brothers in Oakland and DC. Etc etc etc

TLDR: based on their histories, would be pretty surprised if they go with a defensive head coach.

The best coaches in my opinion are defensive coaches because they are able to adapt more easily schematically and know how to win ugly when things are going well in-game.
