You didn’t have to use the words “policy-backed norm” for that to be the implication of your argument.

You’ve repeatedly argued that masking is ordinary, expected, and justified by precedent… not a deviation. That’s a claim about normal practice. And claims about normal practice require evidence, not vibes or explanations about why things feel different now.

If masking during routine, public-facing enforcement was not established or standard, then what you’re defending is a change. And once we agree it’s a change, the question becomes whether that change is compatible with accountability… not whether people are angry or technology evolved.

So which is it?

Either this was historically normal, in which case there should be concrete documentation or examples to point to… or it’s a new response to new pressures, in which case scrutiny is not only appropriate, it’s necessary.

You can’t avoid that fork by pretending you never implied one side of it.

So I never posted, but you claim that I did previously, I call you out and then you backtrack.

You're a dishonest person who misquotes people to try to "win" some internet debate.

Im done with you and your blatant dishonesty.

I really hope they will wake up one day.  I don't know if the Trump admin is good.  Can't blame them for doing what they always promised to do (except for the Epstein files).

Hey dumb shit, they aren't doing what they promised to do.  They promised to deport the worst of the worst.  Hard criminals.  They are going after anyone, even citizens, and they don't care if they detain citizens.  They didn't promise to do the shit they are doing right now which is thug behavior.  That's why people are protesting.  It's obvious.  You are too dishonest to even approach that conversation.  You support the tactics.  You support US citizens being detained.  You support them showing IDs and them not caring.  That's why you can't be honest, because you know it's wrong.  But the cult is the cult.

I’m going to reset this because it’s drifting into personal accusations instead of substance.

I didn’t claim anyone quoted a policy. I addressed the implication of the argument being made: that masking during public-facing ICE enforcement is ordinary, expected, and historically uncontroversial.

That implication matters because if something is ordinary practice, it shouldn’t require retroactive explanations about technology, media, or public anger. It should be demonstrable by precedent.

So the disagreement isn’t about words. It’s about standards.

Either routine masking was historically normal, in which case there should be concrete examples to point to… or it represents a change, in which case scrutiny and debate are legitimate.

That’s the issue. Everything else is noise.

End of discussion about the fucked up nature of what took place with Renee Good. She had a pulse 8 minutes after she was shot and directly denied care from a doctor that could have saved her life. 8 minutes is a staggering figure with aid on site. It's inhuman to not offer aid to a woman bleeding out with a doctor available.

If there are bad ICE officers, they should be disciplined.  Single them out and go after them.  I'll support that.

But no need to demonize the whole lot.  They just doing their job, bud.  Take a deep breath and get some sleep.  Sweet dreams 😍

You’ve moved from “this was always normal” to “conditions are different now,” which is already a concession that practice has changed. And once practice changes, the question isn’t vibes or resentment…it’s standards.

Police, judges, and prosecutors are identifiable for a reason. The legitimacy of state force depends on traceability after the fact. When force is used while identity is concealed, investigations become harder, responsibility becomes diffuse, and public trust erodes. That’s not a media narrative…it’s why identification norms exist in the first place.

How about we make an exchange?

Tell your media folk to make a public apology to ICE, DHS, and Border Patrol for 2 years straight. Tell them to stop with the demonization and do fluff pieces like they used to.  Then find out who's funding the protestors and arrest them along with the violent protestors.  Then tell the democrats who talked major shit like Walz, Frey, etc to go on a public apology tour on the DNC's dime to support ICE and legal immigration system for 2 years.

Then I'll concede that ICE should get rid of normalizing face masks.

But as long as identifying ICE agents is dangerous, they should continue to be able to wear masks.

And what the freak is up with dems?  Forcing EVERYONE to wear masks when it suits them, then forcing officers that they regularly slander and demonize to remove masks when it doesn't suit their political side.  Everything's political with you guys.  You don't get to tell people to mask up and you don't get to tell people to take them off while making their professional lives a living hell.

BTW, those who dox these officer should also get jail time.

Alleging that “immigrants” are rapists and murders while ignoring the documented child rapists and murders is a look.

Do some research on coyotes and the cartel business on human trafficking (especially child sex trafficking).  Pedos an rapists of all kinds should be prosecuted.

I'm all for going after the Epstein clients.  Do something about it!  Contact the surviving victims and join the movement.  Put pressure on the Trump FBI.  Just wonder where righteous zeal was when Biden's handler was in charge.

This is where the conversation keeps slipping sideways, so let’s separate things cleanly.

Public health masking during COVID has nothing to do with whether state agents should be identifiable when exercising coercive power. Those are different domains with different standards.

Civilians masking affects social interaction.

Officers masking affects accountability.

That distinction matters because the state has powers civilians don’t… detention, arrest, and lethal force. When the state uses those powers, the public interest is not comfort or optics, it’s traceability and responsibility.

Your proposal basically turns accountability into a bargaining chip:

“If critics behave better, if the media apologizes, if protesters stop existing, then officers can be identifiable again.”

That’s backwards.

Accountability isn’t conditional on public approval. It’s the price of authority. Judges don’t get to hide because defendants are angry. Prosecutors don’t get anonymity because trials are contentious. Police don’t get to obscure identity because enforcement is controversial.

And to be clear: doxxing and threats are crimes and should be prosecuted if proven. Full stop. That does not require eliminating public identification. We already know how to protect officials while preserving accountability… badge numbers, visible IDs, internal tracking, and independent oversight.

If anonymity becomes the default response to criticism, then we’ve crossed a line where force is no longer accountable to the public it’s exercised against.

That’s the issue. Everything else is a deflection.
