airmcnair22
I saw this tweet a few weeks ago and meant to share it here. I also remember reading an article a while back where Borgonzi talked about unpopular trades. While it didn’t mention Simmons in particular. I do wonder if the new Titans brass would entertain the idea for the right price Would you be in favor of trading Simmons during the draft? AvgJoe
I’ve said before, I wouldn’t be opposed. But I also understand it creates another hole. It completely depends on what the compensation would be. In the end, it’s probably better to hang on to him Callidus, SuperFreak90, and DCTitan

But idk if anyone os going to offer something crazy.
ctm
Trading Simmons would send a bad message to the rest of the team. Not to mention that Simmons plays at a high level and there is no guarantee that the #1 pick would do that. Dangermode
Big Jeff is easily a top 10 interior defender in the league and is only 27. While we could likely get a haul for him, he’s young enough that he could be a part of any run we go on in a couple years post rebuild. If he was 30, trading him now would be a no brainer. But trading him at 27 makes no sense. DCTitan
freakingeek
At this point I say “nay”. We need his leadership. Next year might be a different story. No1TitansFan, and Number9
Popular Post abenjami
I'd trade Simmons and the #1 pick for Mahomes. rns90, airmcnair22, Mythos27, and 4 others 6

It completely depends on what the compensation would be. In the end, it’s probably better to hang on to him My argument comes down to this: what is Jeffery Simmons’ actual impact on winning? I’m not trying to make the same comparison some people do with Myles Garrett—saying a great player doesn’t matter because his team has struggled. I think there’s context in every situation, and that one’s a bit oversimplified. But the real question is: does Simmons impact games the way someone like Chris Jones does? Honestly, I’m torn. I know they drafted T’Vondre Sweat with the idea of pairing him with Simmons—not just on the field, but so he could learn from a guy who brings it every day. So if Simmons gets traded, what kind of effect does that have on Sweat’s development?

titanruss
I'm opposed unless the compensation is great. Trade him and secure the skill players and OL and sure.. thats fine. I'm opposed to trading him and draftng his replacement expecting any kind of similar play and with the premise of saving money. Thats just AJ brown all over again. Also, freeing up money when this staff has frequently said they want to stay out of the expenisve FA market makes no sense. We have no one here worth resigning that much either. rns90
rns90
The only real reason outside of age to have traded Simmons is to move up to get a qb. We don’t have that problem now. And for a team that looks like it might struggle to get any pass rush , trading the one guy who can do that on a consistent basis is kind of dumb. titanruss, freakingeek, IsntLifeFunny, and 1 other
Thrill
I’d be fine with it if we get a good first, only because I think will be on the downside of his prime by the time we’re ready to contend for a championship (if that even happens). But I’d say his skill level is that of a top 10 pick so I don’t know that I would do it for say pick #25. I’d want a top 15 pick or somewhere close to that.
