Susan Crawford was projected to win an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, keeping the high court’s 4-3 liberal majority intact and delivering a blow to Elon Musk and President Trump, according to Decision Desk HQ.

 

Crawford, a Dane County circuit court judge, defeated conservative candidate Brad Schimel, a former GOP state attorney general, for the seat. Crawford replaces retiring liberal justice Ann Walsh Bradley on the court.

 

The election offered the first big test for both parties since the November elections and came after record-breaking amounts of money poured into the race. In particular, the race was seen as a test of Musk’s political sway, as his super PAC, America PAC, alone spent more than $12 million to support Schimel. He also traveled to Wisconsin the Sunday before the election, where he handed out $1 million checks to voters who had signed his petition against “activist judges.”

I certainly voted today.

 

They said they'd pay $50 for a photo holding up Schimel's photo in front of a polling place. Apart from the fact that's probably illegal within a certain distance, I considered taking their money. Hell, I considered trying to attend for the $1 million just to take that. But I have this pesky thing called self respect and an appreciation of law, so I did neither.

 

Also considered seeing if they'd still pay the $50 were I hold dude's photo while it was burning. But that seemed even more likely to result in problems.

 

But anyway ... I think Elon is actively toxic to political branding and it will be interesting to see when that toxicity outweighs the money he gifts and Republicans stop willingly associating. I think it's coming.

I think when stuff turns bad, Trump will do what he always does, look for a scapegoat which will be Musk.  The lady tech reporter, Kara Swisher, says Musk is doing all this for his businesses, for example Tesla has a case before the Wisconsin Supreme Court soon, and that he is all business.  But she also says he is extremely thin skinned and insecure.  He has said he thinks about suicide.  Maybe Musk will off himself if Trump turns against him, especially if Trump takes government business away from Musk if it gets messy between them.

I think Musk is broken more than evil. But he's doing evil so it's much the same thing to me.

 

His perspective, though? I do believe he wonders why people hate him.

 

That said, his lack of empathy really dampens my own. But I can admit that he's a tragic figure up to a point ... even despite fully earning the scorn and revilement.

Like many early innovators, he can be replaced. 

Chinese EV are already outselling Tesla's worldwide. 

Rocket Lab, BTW buy the stock, will have its mid-orbit and larger payload rocket, Neutron, out within a year so they can compete in lower and middle orbit, and being a true genius and nice guy too, Sir Peter Beck will not stop with his Neutron rocket, so by the middle of the next Administration, which hopeful is a Democrat looking to move away from SpaceX, Rocket Lab will have a large rocket too. And the rest of the World is probably already wanting to deal with a non-Musk launch and constellation creating company now. 

AI companies are a dime a dozen at this point, so Musk is just throwing away money on that front.

AST, Nokia and Intuitive Machines will be in Cislunar and back to Earth communications to give Starlink a run.

I am not sure I actually would have voted yesterday if not for Musk wasting so much money. His antics probably did so much more harm to his own sides agenda than not.
 

If Jamal was at the library or whatever at 8:20 am I could’ve ran into him since I think we live in the same town currently.
