Cam Ward has shown he absolutely gives a shit and is willing to put in the work. It makes sense to have veteran guys who can help him develop the skills to maximize that mentality. Sport locker room can have all kinds of personalities. Not every "pros pro" wants to come in and be like an Orlovsky type and be basically a peer tutor and not a competitor. I want to see them surround Ward with every positive influence possible. It's good they are building a relationship with Warren Moon, bringing in a guy like Allen, etc. The more support the better. It feels like we absolutely did not do that with Will Levis and some of our other wonderful QB options.

For sure. Difference between can and willing. A lot of guys are more that mid-tier quality backup and bounce around because having a warm body at QB is important but are unwilling or unable to be a second coach on the field. Kind of get that vibe from Rudolph and why they needed to get someone else.

@1:40 reminds me of Detmer I think it was talking about when he played with farve and they left a meeting and farve asked him what a dime or nickel defense was. He thought he was fucking with him. 

 

Once he figures out he is serious he tells him its when they bring 1 or 2 extra cbs on the field. Farve says why do I need to know that and walked away. 

 

Obviously goff is the other end of the spectrum but its mind blowing these guys can get that far and not have been taught stuff that is so basic.
