He doesn't really care because he knows nothing of substance will ever happen to him.

Nah-  He cares about his rep and he cares a lot about winning. He's a narcissist and still has a lot of criminal charges he's been delaying.    He cares- probably more than anything in his life.

Looking forward to seeing more of this, likely led by purple state repubs at risk politically who can longer polish the turd of Trump’s comments.

Regardless of what happens, he knows he can just delay until the clock runs out.  He's never going to serve a day in prison.  At least I'd be shocked if he did.

I think he just says what comes to his mind without really thinking about the consequences.

Historically I'd disagree but I'm not so sure anymore. He's obviously frustrated and angry that Biden dropped out and now he's losing to Harris so his true thoughts are coming out. Is it on purpose or is it poor impulse control? I don't think he's ever really had good impulse control.. but he is a grifter and narcissistic conman so his impulses lead him into how better to manipulate ppl. The question is if that's still true or is he just lashing out w/ his true thoughts on women b/c he's running out of actual options.

I haven't seen anything suggesting he's actually losing.

he's 100% losing. he hasn't lost yet but it's getting away from him fast and he feels it.

If he loses this election and doesn't flee the country, he's going to jail.

Polls suck. Ignore the polls.  Fundraising, media attention, endorsements, online chatter, social media engagement- in every other measure -  Trump's losing. Its hard to be confident without good polls but 1) we'll never have them and 2) confidence isn't really a good thing.   Polls being close actually help maintain vigilance.

But there are definite indicators that this is going the wrong way for him in a big way.

its stunning he ran for president in 2016 and won and then after his disastrous term,  he has at worst a 50/50 shot of being President again. If you talk to people in New York they will tell you Trump has always been this guy. Horrible business man who doesn't pay his partners or workers. He didn't fool anyone, it was always right there for everyone to see.

tbh- 2016 was a shocker for sure.  In retrospect, less so.  Hillary was carrying decades of baggage - most of it long used misinformation combined with the usual desire of voters to want change after 8 years and some really odd things like emails/Comey.    So maybe in retrospect, that one had a lot of circumstantial stuff attached to it.

The 2020 50/50 close election probably hurt my faith in voters more.   By then there was no excuse really.  The better angels won but it was closer than it ever should have been. I carry that same lack of faith into this election.   I'm hoping for a landslide to take that weight off. (not predicting or expecting one) Otherwise-  this may be our new reality with every 4 years a battle against crazies who want to dismantle everything.

A landslide, may finally bring about some changes across the GOP.  (hopefully).
