Biden, the pro elite socialist/communist who’s the only president to march on a worker’s picket line, ffs.

“This November, we can stand up and elect someone who wants to stand with us and support our cause. Or we can elect someone who will divide us and fight us every step of the way,” said UAW President Shawn Fain. “That’s what this choice is about. The question is, who do we want in that office to give us the best shot of winning? Of organizing. Of negotiating strong contracts. Of uniting the working class and winning our fair share once again, as our union has done so many times in our nation’s history. We need to know who’s going to sit in the most powerful seat in the world and help us win as a united working class.”

“Today I’m proud to announce that UAW is endorsing Joe Biden for President of the United States. And I am honored to invite Joe Biden to come address our great union, and join us in our fight for economic and social justice for the UAW and for the whole working class. UAW family, let’s stand up and welcome the man who stood up for us. Please welcome the current President of the United States, the man we will re-elect, Joe Biden!”

So you’re saying Biden can pander for a big Union donation?!! Crazy.

wonder how many Union members, that weren’t getting paychecks and dealing with inflation don’t support the decision of the top brass of the union.

Trump speaking in first person on a campaign email:

The campaign arm of former President Donald Trump is relying on remarkably dark imagery to drive fundraising for his 2024 presidential campaign: the beheading of his political rivals.

An email message sent early Wednesday morning landed in inboxes nationwide. The subject line read, “Haul out the Guillotine!” Talk of Trump exacting revenge on his political rivals and media critics has become a narrative, and this sort of messaging will do little to disabuse that notion.

I'm sure he doesn't mean any of it though. We have to pick and choose what he's actually lying about versus when he's telling the truth. It's actually easy to discern. If he's speaking from an emotional I place he means it. If he's projecting or talking about someone else he's lying.

Either way, it really isn't a choice for anyone with a functioning brain.

A demagogue (from Greek, a popular leader, a leader of a mob, people, populace, the commons + leading, leader), or rabble-rouser, is a political leader in a democracy who gains popularity by arousing the common people against elites, especially through oratory that whips up the passions of crowds, appealing to emotion by scapegoating out-groups, exaggerating dangers to stoke fears, lying for emotional effect, or other rhetoric that tends to drown out reasoned deliberation and encourage fanatical popularity.[4] Demagogues overturn established norms of political conduct, or promise or threaten to do so.[5]: 32–38

From 2020 — imagine waiting for hours, making the roadtrip, bringing the family to see Trump in your part of the world only to have eat this comment on the way home. What a self-indulgent asshole.

It’s insane the mental gymnastics these idiots will go through to convince themselves that someone they know is absolutely awful is somehow still the better choice.

Agreed.

yet some are still actively promoting Biden.

I was talking to some friends after we went to the baseball game. His argument was “they’re both awful candidates but at least Trump has good business sense unlike Biden who brings nothing to the table”. And then just responded with “touché” about when I brought up points that indicate he is in fact a terrible businessman.

There’s gotta be some big contradiction, potentially on a personal level, that many current Trumpers eventually reconciled (cognitive dissonance) and that was their dotted line. After that, everything else was effectively okay, and  deflection/projection became the day to day coping mechanism. It’s played out this way publicly with most repubs of note, including many of Trump’s current biggest allies.
