Question I have is whether the interest in Evans was seen as a way to give Levis every chance of succeeding with two highly productive veteran WR or is this the first indication of what I hinted at recently that AAS is not into a slow non competitive rebuild.

It's about adding experience to the WR room while adding a skill that we didn't really have on the roster (size).

BC wants to add different skillsets that he can use at different times and ways during a game.

Have a short starting corner going against you? Put Evans out there and you have a mismatch.

Have slow starting corners? Add a pure speed guy in the draft who you can use as mismatches.

etc etc

If they were interested in Evans, would they also be interested in Ridley or Mike Williams as higher end weapons?

I think they definitely look at Ridley esp after Levis made some comments about him.

Evans is such a stud. The price would've been high but IMO worth it. Then you take a speedy type receiver somewhere in the 2nd/3rd. Oh well.

Old, has the dropsies, and doesn't fit the WR profile Callahan outlined when he was hired. I find it hard to believe he was really a target.

Levis didn’t fit the profile either and yet…

And still put up 1250 yards with Mayfield as QB and was just signed to 52 million over 2 years.

I like Evans but they already have Hopkins.... would have been a really odd fit.

I agree it would have certainly been an interesting fit, but two 6'4 WRs who can catch jump balls when your QB has a top 3 arm makes sense.
