Have we learnt nothing from trading away our only other young elite player.

That wasn't the hypothetical...

Its hard to say but Burrow has now had two season ending injuries in 4 years and has taken more of a beating than Luck did through his first 4 years. If Burrow has a shortened career can you really ar

If you guys think the defense is bad now, imagine it without our dominant DT.

We don't need to trade for a middling LT, we need a new coach who schemes around protection issues (everyone in the league has them now), and a GM who doesn't prioritize Gs, backup QBs, and injured busts high in the draft.

Yeah I’m not sure if it read like I was supporting it, but I agree with you. Chase may have been a huge reason why they made the Super Bowl, but I could be easily convinced that Burrow with Penei Sewell and a couple of WRs from the 3rd or 4th round could’ve made it that far as well.

I do think Marvin Harrison Jr has a chance to be a better version of Justin Jefferson, though so you have to weigh that. You also have to take Cincinnati’s inability to build an offensive line with a grain of salt. Just because it was true for them, doesn’t mean it’s true for everyone.

Is his skillet disappearing for whole games at a time?

I feel like Simmons is still playing hard but he's injured and getting almost zero help. The secondary cant cover long enough, the LBs suck, Landry is recovering, and whatever the hell was going on with Tart/Autry.

You'd(A GM) hypothetically trade Simmons for an elite LT

The more realistic hypothetical is trading Simmons to a contender who already has a franchise LT for a high first round pick the Titans would use to draft LT.

How does a "contender" have a "high first round pick"

Meanwhile, in Detroit, Goff is being allowed to play at a high level behind one of the better OLs in the league.

Trade him for a LT? After what I saw today I'm thinking he should be playing LT.

After catching that TD, he should be playing WR!

While yes we do need better coaching, this is a hypothetical regardless of who the coach or GM is. And no one said middling LT, The question is a franchise LT

I love Simmons and he's a fantastic player but QB LT WR EDGE and CB are the premier positions in today's league.  It's almost like valuing a RB or G or S.

A dominant run stuffer and disrupter is great, but Simmons had a great game and they still put up over 30 and it could have been more, and Lawrence made Simmons look silly running after him quite a few times. Even a fast 330 pounder is too slow for these new QBs.

Unless it's prime Aaron Donald you make that trade and don't look back.

It happens sometimes due to trades in prior seasons.  But I didn't mean like a top 3 pick or anything, more like somewhere around 10 where you can get a solid LT.
