Derrick Henry is still an elite back.

I prefer a more balanced run pass ratio regardless of the RB or QB., like 60/40 pass to run. I think if you pass it 40 times and run it 20 you’re making it easier on the defense to not account for the run. Especially so when you have a player who can take it to the house if you catch them slipping.

It’s also worth noting that Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts and had zero fumbles….something hasn’t happened in almost 40 years.   The last guy to do this was Gerald Riggs way back in 1985.

Look at all those defenders chasing down a rolling tomato can!

Derrick Henry sure seems to get a lot of those "anybody could do it, perfectly blocked plays" ever since he was declared a bum by message board illuminati.    Luckiest back in history, I gue

I prefer a run one time from the 2 yard line on first and goal. Just me.

We get the same bullshit misleading stat equivalency here.  "Numbers don't lie!"  ...as if all teams, players, and coaches are equal.

As a side note, I hate the auto-editing to remove quiet moments between sentences.  Noticed a goddamn cartoon (Boss Baby, I think) doing this shit.  Just lightning fast quips back and forth.  Fucking let that shit breath.  Too many shows/movies (American, at least) are non-stop talking, singing, action.  Training a bunch of ADD idiots that can't focus their attention beyond 15 seconds.

100%. But if Henry was still on this team right now that's the way it would have to be.

It's 100% what would happen but it's not what should happen. Unfortunately, it's deeply entrenched NFL dogma to "protect" the QB with the running game. You just can't hide your QB. Eventually it's going to cost you.

You really make it worse for both the back you're force-feeding and the QB you're trying to hide. Predictability kills an offense.

The QBs for Detroit, KC, and TB are 3 of the top 4 in expected completion %- meaning they get a lot of easy completions- and their offenses are Top 10 in scoring.   Detroit and TB are also top 10 in rush yards/game (KC is #13)

Quality OCs make things easy for the QB, even if they are good.

This is pretty good support for @OILERMAN's argument that the offense/OL is doing all of the work for Henry.

That seems way off from PFF/PFR. My guess is it is because that is "per touch" and not per carry. Both Henry and Pollard seem to have taken a massive hit there - probably because they are dump off options which are usually hit immediately and facing away from the endzone

That's not a surprising graph if you watch the games.  The fact is that Henry's never been a RB who's forced a lot of missed tackles.   What he does great is run through big holes and outrun 2nd level guys, often being untouched until the score or he's tackled after a long run.

Hmmm notice the line between all three of those teams? They all have good to great QBs.

Yet they are attempting some of the easiest throws in the NFL.  Goff is the only one who's exceeding the expected completion % by a meaningful degree.

Your argument is a poor one.

You got me.  I guess the NFL they wasted everyone's time all of this tracking equipment in the balls, player equipment, and field to capture data for every single player's exact position and movement speed on the field during every second of the game.
