Derrick Henry is still an elite back.

It’s also worth noting that Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts and had zero fumbles….something hasn’t happened in almost 40 years.   The last guy to do this was Gerald Riggs way back in 1985.

Look at all those defenders chasing down a rolling tomato can!

Derrick Henry sure seems to get a lot of those "anybody could do it, perfectly blocked plays" ever since he was declared a bum by message board illuminati.    Luckiest back in history, I gue

I used to absolutely hate defending  double wing offenses. It was like playing a different game. It also sucked as a corner because they would run, run, run, then suck you in with PA and you're so focused on run supporting that you didn't notice the receiver/TE slip behind you.

Exactly.  Wing right motion left Crossbuck 46 pass was our go to once or twice a game for a long gainer to either the te or motion wing back.  Defenses with speed are hard on that offense though.

This isn't Madden.

Having to face two freaks of nature in a backfield is incredibly demoralizing. You don't think Henry's presence motivates the OL or frightens the defense? Henry wasn't closing out the game with two huge runs that lead to scores that kept the lead comfortable as TB was charging back?  You think they just as easily fight them off? You don't think going from 28 to 31 ppg isn't a big deal? It's proving the point he puts the offense in a rarified position.

I honestly want to know what Henry would have to do to impress you naysayers. Please answer.

I really think the only hing he could do to impress you is become a  really good QB. And one who doesn't run.

I certainly don’t recall anybody saying they should cut Henry.  Plenty of us did say their excessive use of him was counterproductive to winning….. and that the teams that were winning championships did not spend on positions like running back and safety like the Titans have been doing.

In 2022 or 2023 I absolutely advocated for extending Tannehill instead of forcing an abortion of a QB situation. They’d be far better off with Tannehill instead of wasted pics and draft on Willis and Levis, who knows they might’ve actually been able to draft contributors at wide receiver and right tackle instead of wasting those picks.  The sad reality is that they’re in the same position - without a QB.

Maybe if they put his face on a stamp or a coin.

It is quite pathetic how they  STILL need a WR, RT and qb after blowing  all those picks on those 3 spots in 2022 (and 2023 ).

It’s not really just at those spots either , those blown picks from the trades /selections could have been used for other positions that they needed and probably had to fill with FA dollars or just spend other picks with.  It has a top down effect.

That's the only bitter sweet thing about the Callahan hire.  It is obvious Paw is a top OL coach.  There are just players who have ceilings and lack the same kinda insides to be a good NFL football player.  They don't condition and train to get to that next level.  Serviceable.

Before you say it, 99% of us don't have it in us to put that much into reaching our personal goals.

Not joking, I was a halfback in a winged T offense in high school.  Played tailback when we “mixed it up” with the power I formation.   3 yards and a cloud of dust quite literally at times.

Sounds just like my team in hs. Only used the power I for goalline.  Otherwise it was wing T running buck sweep, jet, power, traps,  etc.
