Um, perhaps the guy being carried off his feet with dudes with machine guns all around him was a giveaway?

If I were to create a movie where people are rushing a wounded military leader into a hospital surrounded by guards, it would look identical to that clip.

But, just to be clear, that post was more of a "I wonder what else they know" than a " I'm not sure this is true."

There's simply no defense for what has taken place. This wasn't a military encounter; this was terrorism plain and simple. There's a huge difference. It's unjustifiable and has setback peace for decad

Holy shit you are an NPC. Women and children taken hostage, hundreds of innocents gunned down, Holocaust survivors being paraded through the streets...   and you are foaming at the mouth ove

Hell yeah! John Calvin & friends never burned "heretics" at the stake. Protestants never burned "witches". All the bad stuff was the Catholics fault! That's the ticket!

The guy was clearly resisting but fair enough.

1. BTW, you said it was genocide so stick to your guns.

2. There is no nation of Palestine.  That's not a thing any more than Kurdistan is.

3. NO one said anything about killing or forcibly displacing anyone, that's where your leap in logic took you.

1: I Didn’t. It’s not genocide yet but Netanyahu and the IDF will make a run at it

2: There is. Founded in 1988. The region of Palestine (which Israel is a part of) is at least 12 centuries older than Jesus

3: You stated that there should be one state with Palestinian refugees moving to Arab countries and that Israel are doing what they should. Unless you think the one state should be Palestine then what does that mean?

To be fair, he said one nation in which everyone has citizenship and equal rights. He said that's a pipe dream, so in his mind the only logical way would be for Arab nations to take people that want to leave in as refugees. I disagree with him, but especially as it goes for Gaza I can't call it illogical.

I don't think it's logical at all. It's like saying the only way would for Israeli settlers to go back to whatever country their ancestors came from in the 1940's. It would be totally immoral and would not be accepted by the west, just as this idea would be totally immoral and not accepted by the Islamic states

Eh, I said I didn't agree with him, but I do agree with the premise that Arab countries should let any Palestinian in Gaza that wants to flee be taken in as a refugee. I don't believe he meant forced refugee status, but if he did then yeah that's illogical.

Well yeah I’m a big proponent that everyone has an obligation to accept refugees, but that doesn’t solve this or any conflict

Okay, I see you want to play games.  If you can't be honest (about what I'm saying or what you've said), this conversation is over.

I don't think it's necessarily a solution, but it could potentially be one if enough Palestinians said fuck this and left, leaving Hamas reeling with maybe potential at replacing them through elections. It's a really messy situation. I don't see any good solutions.

There aren't any good solutions. If the Arab nations hadn't attacked Israel, the day the nation came into existence there would probably be peace. I think things have slowly gotten better but we're probably 50-100 years away from real stability and prosperity in the region and that's not even looking at the situation with Palestine.  They're fucked.  I feel for them, but they do have a responsibility in all of this, and Israel has a right to protect itself so until extremists stop with the violence, I won't condemn Israel for responding with military force.  I will criticize them though when they use heavy handed tactics that result in unnecessary casualties.

I'm not sure I understand what's so controversial about that stance unless you're delusional about the situation or have an axe to grind.
