yeah, I'm a lead aerospace test engineer who does aerodynamic and rocket propulsion testing that use to work for NASA. They tend to seek me out. You guys are very similar to them.

Maybe stick to looking smart to flat-earthers and stay off here?

I actually like you, I just think you've gotten extremely arrogant over the last few years, and that arrogance makes your ignorance impossible to ignore.  Back in the day when you were arguing for crossfit, you weren't as unbearable as you are now.

Seemed much more an issue of accuracy mixed with throwing it up for Hopkins than arm strength, but here's the reality:   Tannehill will have better days but he's old / will only decline from

Even after a day to keep from getting on here and crushing the ABTers that tried doing a victory lap after one game, I'm pretty shocked at how stupid some people are.     @reo wants Tannehil

They let a DE come in unblocked and that's on the QB?  Tards are gonna Tard.

Nobody disputes the pass protection assignments were failed on the play.  Your analysis of what happened though is ridiculously wrong.

First off, Spears was part of the pass protection, as the look was rushing 5 or potentially 6 guys.  Hat on a hat.  Secondly, the play if the pass pro held up was to a wide open Hopkins for an easy 1st down on a shallow cross......

Spears was running a route and he was trying to chip the OLB. He did not have responsibility for the interior rusher.

Now the pass pro failed as all 3 guys on that side handled it poorly.  Spears ignored the interior rush and immediately goes towards the edge rusher in a wide 9 look.  The same guy Dillard is blocking in space against.  Newman, meanwhile, is supposed to pick up Murray who was in the gap between Dillard and him.  He didn't block anyone and in less that 2 seconds he was hitting Tannehill.....

Newman 100% should've picked up Murray but he was obviously watching the other ILB thinking he was blitzing. It wasn't that he just decided not to block Murray. The Chargers tricked our offense into thinking that ILB was blizing so we set up our blocking assignments to block someone who ended up falling back into zone. Then our LT didn't block inside out. That's the main problem that happened on that play. That's why we had a free rusher. The defense tricked our offense into believing someone was blitzing when they weren't. And that's on the guys trying to identify/solidify the blocking assignments w/ their presnap reads ie the C or the QB. The offense thought Kendricks (?) was blitzing and set it up for Newman to block him... but he didn't blitz and they got us. And that mistake was on whoever was making the line calls. That's usually the C or QB.

Hopkins or Spears. Depends on which side of the formation Tannehill's reads started. They were both open (after Spears' chip on the OLB).

EDIT: honestly.. thinking about it, the LT  might've been the culprit (outside of whoever fucked up the assignments). If they had Spears chipping the OLB. And Newman was on Kendricks. Then the LT should block inside then out... which would mean Murray would've been his responsibility... but if they had correctly read that Kendricks wasn't blitzing, it's not an issue and Newman blocks him. Main fault is still on whoever misread the defense (QB or C).

thats a different argument...

No team should ever run then!

Honestly, this whole argument is sorta moot. Regardless of the play call or whether or not hots were available, the motherfucking QB has the option to throw it at eligible receivers feet and avoid a sack. I've seen great QBs do this effectively for my whole life, but Tannehill rarely does it.

He thought he had everyone blocked.

I'm definitely not shy to throw shade at Tannehill but Murray came in fast. I can't blame him too much for taking that sack w/ how it went down.

I will, however, blame him for screwing up the line calls that put him in that position. Someone misread that defense. It's either the C or QB and my bet is on the QB.

Well, there were 4 other sacks that we could discuss. 46 fucking yards worth instead of 5 incompletions

They exist and can be changed if they're built in.

Its hilarious that you don't realize that vid actually supports the opposite stance of reo's. Its clear as day. Hot reads and sight adjusts are built into the offense. You don't call a hot read at the line and change it. He basically said you can change the hot read/sigh adjust in between series to a different route as long as everyone knows the change is coming.

Who do you think makes the hot read and sight adjustment, dude? It doesn't magically happen. If it's done presnap, it's made by the QB. You can sometimes quite literally hear the QB yelling "HOT HOT HOT".

Thats not changing. Thats calling out the prebuilt read based on the defensive alignment. Its not an audible. You seem to be conflating the two.

I think the issue isn't so much that they didn't have the right protection call.  It's far more likely that Newman, playing in his first actual NFL game, didn't handle his assignment because he froze.  It's NOT coincidental that he only had 3 more snaps where he didn't handle a stunt very well from Bosa on the 3rd down sack).

It makes perfect sense to see Dillard focus on the edge guy.  I agree Spears was indeed chipping but they clearly aren't calling on a RB to account for a clear edge rusher.

It's as simple as that with the concept being a quick throw to Hopkins as the primary with Spears as the secondary.
