Trump Indicted By DC Grand Jury

Remember during a campaign rally back in 2020,  Trump promised the crowd that he’d be re-elected for four more years….and then be re-elected again in 2024 for a third consecutive term because America would demand it.

People wanted to pretend he was joking;  he wasn’t .

What Trump has done is much, much worse than Nixon. No comparison.

Was Hunter indicted?

There needs to be a strong deterrent to this happening again.

I think he wants to name his successor and revamp the distribution of power in America with his seed being given powers ad infinitum.

Trump doesn't give a shit about successors. It's all about Trump.

The only person close to Trump who he does not have contempt for is Ivanka, imo.

A target letter sent by special counsel Jack Smith to former President Donald Trump mentions three federal criminal statutes.

The letter cites laws covering conspiracy to defraud the United States, witness tampering, and deprivation of rights under color of law.

After a little research, I understand what deprivation of rights under color of law actually means.  But, any attorneys on here want to speculate what specific actions Trump could have taken to violate this statute?

Not a lawyer, but it seems like any illegal act being performed by a government official ostensibly using/abusing their empowered role as a government official might qualify.

The blatant illegality of the scheme from Trump, Eastman, and company has already been attested to some degree by the fact that all Trump's lawyers and advisors were compelled to provide testimony -- meaning the threshold was met for the crime fraud exception to overcome attorney-client privilege.

I hope the resident Trumpers here have put their money where their mouth is.

Each time Donald Trump gets charged with a crime, the contributions pour in, a CNN analysis of newly released campaign reports shows – underscoring how much the criminal cases confronting the former president have benefited the Republican’s campaign bottom line.

The analysis of itemized donations – those larger than $200 – to Trump’s campaign shows his day-by-day contributions over the first six months of this year spiked following the news of his indictments....
