Unless he was caught giving up classified intel, why should he be kicked off the committee?

As posted , for appearances of the intel committee it would be completely understandable to ding members irrespective of party who could have potentially compromised themselves inadvertently.  There are other qualified representatives to take the spot and other committees for the affected rep.  Doing so would fortify the public's perception of integrity, and that's important for Congress.

Ha!  So what should happen to the criminals who  were caught manufacturing a fake report to spy on a sitting President?  That’s treason.  Should something be done???  And if so, what?  Remember Nixon had to resign for spying.

Well as we don’t actually know if the woman was a spy and there’s no evidence Swalwell gave her anything of value, it seems like there shouldn’t be any kind of punishment for him.

And hey, if he was dating a spy, his 1st hand espionage experience should benefit the intel committee!

What fake report is that?

You mean the guy who said he was investigating Obama being born in Kenya and claimed to have turned up all kind of evidence?

You wanted Santos kicked out for lying (before any recent charges came up).   Are you all for kicking out lying Adam Shiff?

Amazing how the DOJ came up with all those charges against Santos in a couple of months, while after a few years has failed to yet indict Hunter Biden.

First, the local GOP machine even wanted Santos gone so it isn’t a political thing.

Secondly, Schiff hasn’t lied about anything as far as we know so the situations aren’t remotely the same.

Well thanks for admitting that, unlike Santos, Hunter Biden hasn’t been breaking the law (recent tax evasion charges not withstanding).

Bruce Miller is an extreme example, but things like the Swalwell situation is what is radicalizing people.

Most don't really pay close attention to politics, but enough to know that being caught sleeping with a CCP spy is really out of the ordinary and a big deal.  For it to be treated like a nothingburger and for no corrective action take place, while the media and politicians focuses on whatever stupid meaningless shit they choose to instead, really fucks with people's minds.  They begin going down rabbit holes, and next thing you know, they on the Senate floor dressed as a Patriotic minotaur declaring the country to now be property of Qanon.

Well I doubt anyone is being radicalized over Swalwell because very few Americans outside of his district could even identify him.

That said, it’s certainly not a nothingburger that China (or Russia or whoever) might be sending spies in as honey pots to get info/access from members of Congress. But as there’s zero evidence that Swalwell gave her anything of value, that’s why I’m not concerned. He apparently didn’t do anything wrong, and you can be sure the FBI investigated him already.

Compare that to the Maria Butina case where we know she got access.

Both sides are corrupt. lol it’s so sad how stupid people are brainwashed into believing one side is better, it’s as fake as WWE, where on TV you see one guy hate another but behind closed doors they laugh joke and are of the bestest of friends. If Americans literally banded together all races white black Hispanic, Asian etc and stopped voting stopped picking sides, stop listening to them cater to poor peoples emotions wed have a bunch of corrupt politicians running for the

hills. It’s sad, I haven’t voted once. Because both sides have become fanatical first the left then right including any moral issue. It’s extremely sad

Unfortunately, that’s not the case.  The FBI and DOJ protects the parties they want (whether evidence exists or not) and prosecutes the parties they dislike.  To sit back and pretend there is no evidence on Hunter or Swalwell, when 51 FBI agents signed a document to lie that the Hunter’s computer was Russian disinformation, is disingenuous.  See all I want is the rule of law to be served for everyone.  As I said, pussy politics are beneath me.

Legitimate concerns over the perceived integrity of congress (yeah, yeah, I know) are being minimized. It’s unfortunate when posters choose to  play defense instead of listening and conceding that sleeping with the enemy is potentially disqualifying for someone on the fucking intelligence committee. If nothing else it’s a deterrent for the next committee member to stay diligent against the oldest profession.

That said, for the record, ardent Trumper Devin Nunes was fully briefed and didn’t take any action when he chaired the committee. Knowing that the “release the memo” fabricator didn’t try to boot Swalwell is a powerful indicator that he was not compromised.
