begooode Posted May 17, 2023 Report Share Posted May 17, 2023 Waiting for the dust to settle on much of the reporting on the Title 42 termination at the border, but the early indications are the big wave of immigrants that was expected to overwhelm local resources had already happened earlier. Still a situation that can change very quickly, per the reporting. Biden's border security is definitely not 'open borders' and borrows much from Trump's administration, especially on asylum seekers who are no longer automatically accepted, and must first prove they were denied asylum in a previous country; applying for asylum with an app before coming to the border, etc,.. In fact the White House is being sued by the ACLU, stating that some of these measures are unconstitutional. We need a comprehensive, reasonable immigration reform and a secure border.
