IsntLifeFunny
Anyone else been following along? Been excellent basketball for the most part with some crazy upsets. My favorite was Dillon Brooks attaining dumbest motherfucker of the year award in April! The Lakers/GS series is going to be an absolute gem. These two matchup perfectly for an epic series. I think it goes 7. IrishTitansFan

I think it goes 7. Brooks is a fucking idiot for doing that while in contract negotiations Lakers are a very dangerous team now. That mid season trade and honestly Lebron injury worked out for them. They've learned how to play when he has an off-night like he did last night I'm surprised Phoenix are 2-0 down. I thought that would go 7. It looks like the winner of Philly and Boston will make the finals, but you can't count out Butler with how he's playing IsntLifeFunny
Bink
I am a Grizzlies fan, so it was a tough outcome to swallow. We looked like the better team for a lot of that series, but Ja being banged up and not having Clarke and Adams really hurt us. On the flipside, fuck Dillon Brooks. Launch that fucker into the sun. It is well know the key to winning against LeBron psychologically is to let him stay inside his own head, not give him a reason to channel all his energy into the series. I am glad the Grizzlies are done with his pathetic ass. As much as I hate Draymond, he said it best "the dynasty starts after you, not with you".--What an all-time cold piece of trash talk by the way, he killed the man. In terms of the rest of the league, it feels completely wide open. The Nuggets were the best team all regular season but kind of phoned it in towards the end--they've turned it on. The Lakers and Warriors series should be incredible. I could see either team coming away with it. As a LeBron truther, that team is a lot better than a 7th seed and we've seen him win a title with AD before. I think LeBron adding to his legacy is what I want to see happen now that the Grizz are gone. Warriors definitely could turn it on though and win another one--I think they're the best coached team by far with role players that know how to win these games, something Rui and Austin Reeves are just learning. Should be a fun end to the season.
CaliTitan3518
Warriors/Lakers should be a battle. Lakers length showed to be an issue for us last night. 29 to 6 free throws was the big difference last night. Tough to win against a team getting to the line that much and you only getting there 6 times.

I was hearing some fans talking about the refs--this isn't a reffing thing. It was a fairly called game, but the teams have dramatically different playstyles. Just in that they are a tough matchup for the Grizz, they are a tough draw for the Warriors. Looney is playing his ass off and deserves a lot of credit, but from a defensive standpoint the way AD affects the paint with his discipline and shot blocking really hampers what GS can do in a way that Sabonis couldn't dream of. That said, no team in the league is as loss proof as Golden State. Some better decision making from Poole and a continued series like this from Wiggins and this one will go 7 IMO. One thing about the Warriors is they will adjust. Looney is a beast on the boards but a liability guarding AD. Tough to stop a big athletic freak like him when he is playing at a high level. He is a good free throw shooter too so playing him physical might not work out. Warriors just dont have any size on the roster. Their really only option is to continue to switch up the small ball lineup. Draymond, Payton and Wiggins will have to step up big time guarding guys that are just bigger than them. IsntLifeFunny
You could tell by the end og the game the Lakers were completely gassed. GS stamina and bench will be key going forward. Also, I think we saw by far the best game of the series for AD. They're going to wear him out if they keep using him like that (didn't sit in the second half). The Lakers are going to need 20 & 20 from him every game. CaliTitan3518

I do think the Warriors are the best team in the league at making adjustments, but I think this will be similar to the Grizzlies series where we will see them be successful with varying levels of output from AD. I think they are feeling a lot of fatigue but we've seen this team gather a lot of energy. I could see a lot of outcomes here. Do agree the Warriors bench will need to step up--I think they'll also need some absolute hero games from Curry and much better play for Poole. I just hope for an interesting series. This is going to be one for the ages. I said it to a friend before the game. This one is going 7. They can't keep up the pace with AD. They'll have to rest him more. He had lead in his shoes by the end of the game. GS will have to go back to Curry being point, which is what we saw in the 4th. Vanderbilt is an absolute dog out there btw. I was extremely impressed by his effort and tenacity. Bink

I sort of feel like Lakers need to win both at home and go up 3-1 to beat them. The Warriors are on another level mentally right now and feel like they are just out working everyone. The knee grab was a pretty gross play by DS. Wild to see Draymond the victim of such a dirty play. Warriors will use that for sure.

Kerr and his staff are really at a different level than any other staff in the NBA. IsntLifeFunny

He's squarely in the conversation with Popovich as the 2nd greatest coach in history. He watched the tape and saw that while Looney is a monster on the boards he was clogging the lane and isn't a good matchup on the defensive end with AD. AD being a 5 works perfectly against guys like Looney. Green on the other hand opens up the floor and forces AD out of the lane on offense while being a more athletic defender. The calculus was efficiency over possessions and it obviously worked really well. The Lakers only chance is to absolutely bang the ball inside all game and beat the shit out of the Warriors when they go into those lineups.
IrishTitansFan
Good slate yesterday. Celtics 6ers was a great game. Tatum came out of a terrible first half to make a ton of big buckets and defensive plays. Embiid was really bad toward the end of the game, passive and weak. I think it was the best game I've ever seen Harden play Durant and Booker are really turning it on now. It will be tough to beat them when they're both on, no matter what team they play Bink
