I wouldn't go that far. We haven't even got to the criminal cases yet and all of these polls are on the back drop of people willing to do the polls. The independents will not vote for Trump.

Making a definitive statement such as independents will not vote for Trump feels a lot like hope. I hope you're right. I think you're wrong.

Well, as someone that has elderly family with dementia of varying degrees, I can tell you that Joe Biden does not have dementia.   Also, he's 80, so you either believe he's younger than 65 a

Biden certainly doesn’t have the charismatic presence or powerful public speaking skills of his predecessors;  he’s not much of a salesman.     As has been pointed out before, Biden had decades

You've seen the recent elections? Trump not only has baggage but will have to face the fact he wants abortion banned and overturned Roe. It isn't hope.

Regardless of how you feel about Biden's politics, the public views him a certain way. He will likely lose to Trump if it comes down to the two of them again in 2024.

People didn’t want Biden during the 2020 primary either. But when he became the nominee, voters went with him anyway even if they weren’t excited about it. I expect the same this year.

My biggest concern is the 3rd party candidates. They could easily peel off enough votes from Biden in battleground states to flip the election. That was enough to cost both Gore and Hillary.

If Trump is re-elected we deserve to watch our institutions burn.

I found it interesting listening to NPR that one of Univision's lontime and top news people quit 3 days after an interview with them and Trump wass released with him spouting a bunch of lies with zero pushback. The media has failed our country by allowing the bullshit he says to be equivocated with other stupid shit politicians do when they aren't even in the same dimension of crazy stupid lies.

The recent Ezra Klein podcast has Michael Podhorzer, a  political strategist, who explains why he believes Biden is doing way better than the current polling, which he says is useless.

Basically he says this century all presidents have polled horribly in terms of "approval rating". Biden's is normal. The only outliers are like Bush after 9-11.

He argues that when people are surveyed right now they are way more willing to be negative about Biden/Dems but that doesn't show that when they are in the booth they are 100% voting against Trump/Republicans.

A few other interesting points.

Trump being banned from major social media has actually helped him a  lot. He embarrassed himself and his supporters non stop and it hurt him.

In the past a lot of Republican voters could argue that the Republicans wouldn't really do some of the things they campaigned on. The Republicans have shown if they have the power they absolutely will.

I knew this would happen and said it at the time.

Trump should be fully platformed and heavily covered by the media, encouraged to talk as much as possible.

Yes. The media doesn't report a ton of the crazy shit he says so who better to show it than the buffoon himself
