Dobbs signing with the Browns

Based on how Mike Keith talks about Willis, I think it's just as likely that they are looking at him to be the backup.  Sounded like they knew he was nowhere close to ready to play QB last year and expect a leap forward.  Doesn't mean he can develop into a viable starter.

If they knew he wasn't ready they why in the world did they make him the #2 all year?  They could've easily carried a 3rd QB and made Willis inactive on game days.

Fair. Didn't really need a 3rd. RT is a plenty capable backup behind Willis.

If he had beaten the Jags I would feel comfortable calling him a Titans Legend and retiring his number, but he didn't so fuck him

We can always sign Dobbs off of whatever practice squad he ends up on this year…

Bridgewater seems likely to be too expensive but he’s the best of the bunch. Gabbert has some familiarity with the system at least.

Gabbert.......watch daddy sling it

They don't carry 3 QB's and certainly didn't plan on Tannehill getting injured and missing 5 games and part of another.

Yes but you have to have some sort of contingency plan in case that does happen.  Relying on a raw rookie who everyone knew wasn't ready didn't seem to make sense if they knew he wasn't ready.

The did have Woodside around until Mariota took his ball and went home and ATL signed him off the PS.

That's the only reason they ended up signing Dobbs in December.  It would have been Woodside once Tannehill was done for the year.

Yeah, the Titans have met with him more than any other team, and the amount of heavy interest is very similar to the well documented heavy interest (it actually exceeds it) they showed in Malik Willis and Desmond Ridder leading into the draft last year before they drafted Willis.

The Titans have more exposure to Hendon Hooker than any other player in this draft and Hooker has met with the Titans directly more than any other team in the league. That's just factual information.

Obviously, fans can hold whatever opinion they want about any given prospect though - but that's a separate issue from who the team is showing significant interest in.

They haven't met with him more than any other team.  Colts, Bucs, Giants, Texans are all hosting him.  He met with everyone at the combine.  When else has he 'met' with the Titans?

He said that the Titans were the first team he met with at the Senior Bowl and he was at the Senior Bowl all week in meetings with Charles London as a non participating member of the American team.

And yeah - the Titans are also hosting him on a visit.

I would also bet that he met with them at the Combine given Wyatt’s cryptic comment on the matter in one of his recent mailbags.

Anyway, people can feel free to believe whatever they want to believe about it - not going to argue. Maybe they’ll draft another QB later in the draft instead - I don’t particularly care one way or the other.

He also met with Cowboys, Saints and half the league at the senior bowl.  I think you could draw some conclusions with Jrob because he tended to draft prospects he was familiar with but Ran has proven he's willing to go outside home waters.

I'll also say that you are putting a ton of trust in media reports this offseason. Especially media reports that hint at a change at QB.  It has all been misplaced faith thus far.  Facts.

I'd tell you to ask the guy who made the decision but he hasn't been heard from for 3 months.
