scine09
IMO it's just ridiculous. They can afford to pay him as is. TitanPoke, Downtown, and titanruss

Their ideal is probably to trade him which means they needed to wait for the QB market to solidify. Carr, JG and Rogers had to go first. Now there's no reason to cut him before they see what happens in the draft. They could still trade him if they get enough capital to then move up in the draft for a QB. Or they hang onto him until they see who falls. If they get in range of a QB then they draft him and cut/trade Tannehill after the draft. If not then they keep Tannehill for another season. At any rate, they're in no hurry to do anything w/ him anytime soon. rns90, oldschool, OILERMAN, and 3 others 2
IowaOiler
The dumbest thing is to keep enough assets to prevent a full rebuild next year. Either we keep people that we feel we can compete with or we go full rebuild. This half-ass shit is was keeps you mediocre for a decade. reo, Mythos27, titanruss, and 1 other 3

They can afford to, but clearly decided that he is paid too much for what he brings to the table. The $13.6M base salary is exorbitant for anyone who isn’t elite. I imagine the video proves to be all generic baseless speculation, however. I watched he said he expected Tannehill to be the QB next season. There is no one to trade him to and it would have already happened by now

cshumak2
I would give him permission to seek a trade. Like I get the business side can be harsh, but at the end of the day, if they ask you to take a pay cut you can say no. At that point they can either keep you at your current contract, release you, or trade you (and I would think a team trading would be ok with his contract or willing to extend him)

For the last fucking time, Bus Cook told McNair to go the facility and force the issue due to the dumb ass escalator Reese put in the contract to force both sides to negotiate a new deal. animatormike, SuperFreak90, and Btowner
